Publisher's Summary

Truth: Penn Walker entered my life like a summer storm - dark, ominous, and filled with thunder. After witnessing my husband's murder, I didn't have much of a heart left to offer a man. But Penn took it all. Every jagged shard. Every broken bit. Even the dirty and twisted pieces that I wish never existed.

Lie: I didn't need him to save me. Lie: I knew exactly who he was. Lie: Losing him wouldn't destroy me.

But that's the thing about lies - you never know who to believe.

Wow

Aly Martinez and her duets... good Lord. I can’t get over them and this one slayed me even more.

The secrets and lies and truths and the most shocking of all reveals. I think I ran the gamut of emotions and I won’t be able to chill out for a while. My heart beats for this duet.

I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the narration. Although John Lane was fantastic, I did get pulled out of the book by a few of Cynthia Farrell’s voices. She made Drew sound like he wasn’t quite all there. Her male voices just need less of a pause to feel fluent.

But honestly... I would listen to this over and over regardless of narration.

Great Duet

This is a great story! I'm so glad I listened! It had all the feels. There was actually a storyline and not just sex and drama...which is all I had been coming across for a while before this.

Part ii - duet truth vs lies

Aly Martinez finishes this duet with fantastic empathy, strength and passion.

As Cora and Penn develop feelings for each other, Penn thought he understood the situation that surrounded his wife's death but it has become more intricate. Now instead of revenge, he needs to save the new family he's adopting, even if it's at the cost of his own life.

I really enjoyed this duet. 1st book took a little to get into, but well worth the read!

Cynthia Farrell and John Lane do an amazing job bringing these characters to life and believable.

AWESOME

I love Aly Martinez and this book was amazing. Just when you think the threat is over, there's a new one to worry about. This is an intense, emotional, gritty, dark, thrilling series. I love how some of the characters life have crossed at some point. I felt for Cora and the heart break she had to endure. I liked how close Penn and Drew were. Definitely recommend this Series.

I loved this duet!

Wow what an incredible story! I love Aly Martinez and how she creates such complex characters and stories. This one has so many layers filled with grief & loss, anger & vengeance, love & perseverance. Penn & Cora are definitely one of my new favorite couples. Their road was unconventional, haunted, packed with secrets to protect each other and themselves but ultimately they discovered an amazing connection and unconditional love. The narration was absolutely perfect!!!!

Worth everything

I couldn’t get to book 2 fast enough. Such a
Good journey. While I’m happy about the HEA, I’m also sad it’s over. Bet I re-read it!

Ok, but didn't hold my interest

The first half or so was interesting, but after a crucial moment about halfway through it kind of lost momentum. Too much dialogue with not a lot happening (other than one sex scene which was the only good part at that point). I was just listening to get to the end after awhile. Not a lot of tension or anticipation in the last scene before the epilogue, it seemed like the resolution was too easy and contrived.

I will say that I enjoyed the humorously crude banter between the two "brothers" in the beginning, I was laughing.

Brilliant!

What a great ending to this brilliant duet. The Truth About Us starts where The Truth About Lies ended, with Cora heartbroken and devastated by the turn of events. But Cora being the fighter she is puts her heartbreak aside to help her girls.
There’re twists and turns aplenty as this dark and gritty story hurtles to its conclusion with shocks and surprises in equal measures. I loved it and highly recommend it!
Fantastic narrators!
