Wow

I love Noelle Ihli & her work. This one was phenomenal. The eerie anticipation throughout the whole story, the reality that this is something that could happen anywhere, the ending. The whole thing. It was so good. I only gave it 4 stars because I know there’s not a follow up to finish the few loose ends, but overall I think this is my favorite of her books so far.

The story kept me interested the entire time and waiting to see what came next

I can’t say that there was anything I disliked about this book. I thought there would be a twist/ connection to the neighbor!

A fun bit of Summer Slasher Junk food that sours at the end

I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this book. I was just hoping for something entertaining in between books that require more brain power. It was good. I was enjoying the summer slasher at a haunted carnival vibe, even though Nora’s internal dialogue droned on a bit too much sometimes. Unfortunately, Ihli lost me at the end. The part between the corn maze entrance and the trio stumbling upon the happenings dragged and I ended up skipping around. Also, really, No One made a run for it? No one? And I find it hard to believe *no one* in security or the owners really cared? I get that it’s a haunted house so verifying claims would be hard, but after actual murders? That was very unlikely. Too much suspension of belief for me. And the very end?! Come on. So now Nora’s hero moment is pretty much moot? To summarize- started off strong and unraveled at the end.

I’m a pretty avid reader/listener to dark books. This one was pretty well wrote. I was hoping for a little more details during certain part but overall it was

This is a film worthy book!

Many go to The Thicket, but not everyone leaves. Reading The Thicket felt like watching a classic horror movie unfold in my mind's eye, and it was good! It delivered all the suspense, too, as the POV shifted between that of the killer and his victims to be. The ending wasn't unexpected, but it added another level of fear to be unlocked.

Fantastic!

Best horror book I've read so far. Well written and kept me wanting to read more and more. I just couldn't stop! I absolutely recommend this!!

The similarities to Friday 13th

The childish behavior and non realistic attitudes of these mean girls was aggravating. Even with the slow development of the characters, they were so flat through the entire story. I struggled to get through in hopes that it may get better. Bad book. Just BAD

Fast paced, story with good details.

This was a good book. It is a nice palette cleaner for between more in depth thrillers. I would recommend for teenagers. The description of the characters and scenes was excellent. It felt like you were there. Fun read.

Great plot

I enjoyed the many twists and the suspense. I highly recommend this book to those who love a good mystery.
