In The Secret Power of Yoga, Nischala Joy Devi guides the listener to the heart and spirit of yoga by offering a commentary on Patanjali's Yoga Sutras that emanates from an intuitive, feminine, heart-centered approach. Unlocking the secrets of this sacred text, The Secret Power of Yoga views consciousness as residing not only in the mind but reestablishes the ancient wisdom that recognizes the essential role of the heart. Woven throughout this, the abridged audiobook is seven hours of commentary, stories, and guided experiences focusing on Ashtanga Yoga, the Eight-Faceted Path. Featuring new stories exclusive to this audiobook edition, Nischala's clear, warm-hearted perspective breathes new life into the Yoga Sutras, and helps the listener to integrate the sacred jewels of these ancient teachings.

I love the feminine interpretation of sutras and how accessible the techniques become after her explanation!

The author begs to be taken serious. However, immediately makes the case for what she is trying to move away from. Changing actual words in ancient texts to suit her own agenda, she ends up comically proving right, all the ancient wisdom of keeping overly emotional creatures out of religious affairs. Sad because there are some decent ideas offered but, they are overshadowed by her cartoonish lack of self awareness. Changing words and misspelling make this a nice attempt but indeed a fail.

well meaning but misguided
