Story
In the year 2030 the Maunder Minimum, a period of solar inactivity, will cause a mini-ice age like it did between the years 1645 and 1710. When it does, Bishop will have to save her not only from the effects of severe weather but also from man himself. Maeve Tildon and her son Ben live alone in the rural town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Since her husband died in the war, she's barely kept her head above water, and when the first freeze strikes in the fall, she's completely unprepared for what lies ahead.

Robert A. Heinlein wrote The Number of the Beast, which was published in 1980. In the book Zeb, Deety, Hilda, and Jake are ambushed by the alien "Black Hats" and barely escape with their lives on a specially configured vehicle (the Gay Deceiver) which can travel along various planes of existence, allowing them to visit parallel universes. However, unknown to most fans, Heinlein had already written a "parallel" novel about the four characters and parallel universes in 1977.

Boss loves to dive historical ships, derelict spacecraft found adrift in the blackness between the stars. Sometimes she salvages for money, but mostly she's an active historian. She wants to know about the past--to experience it firsthand. Once she's dived the ship, she'll either leave it for others to find or file a claim so that she can bring tourists to dive it as well. the story is great and well crafted. however the performance leaves something to be desired. Madi is a strong character that finds her footing and is made to sound like a whiney girl by the interpretation of the reader. doesn't do it justice!

The male narrator for a teenage girl is dreadful
It started well even though the male narrator was, in my mind, unsuitable for teenagers especially girls. I wasn’t sure who was talking as it was delivered in such a monotonous way. The story is good but the female lead got captured so many times I got bored. If you can get past the narration and daft story it’s not too bad. If it is the same narrator for the second book I won’t bother.
