Unexpectedly one of my new favorites!

Wow! I, admittedly, purchased this book solely because it was on sale but having finished it, I would gladly pay full price. Such a great read / listen. So well written, great performance. I was left wishing there was more to hear about the characters.

A cinematic tale

I highly enjoyed this story. The plotting, character development, work building were so good. Truly the structure reminded me of a movie. I highly recommend.

Almost perfect

Truly love this book and the narrator just wish there was more explanations to the magic. That part was just sort of glossed over in my opinion, but definitely will worth the read.

What a fantastic story! H.G Perry is an enthralling author. The worlds and characters she creates are so detailed and beautiful. I love her story telling style! This book does not disappoint.

Cosy fantastical history

An enjoyable fantasy overall with a delightful smooth English country accent throughout. The style is of a false memoir, which while overall a good tone for the book, is at times too heavy handed with foreshadowing which can rob some story twists of much of the surprise and suspense the scene would have held written in the present moment. It's a book more for curling up with on a lazy afternoon than one to keep you on the edge of your seat

I loved the narrator and the story line. I wish all the characters would have lived.

Wonderful escape fiction!

H.G. Parry’s books are wonderful! They are well written, and they allow readers to be transported to their worlds. I am reading one after the other. So good!

The author makes a very believable world one that's grounded relatable and at the same time has just the right touch of Wonder Magic andPossibility.
