From an absolutely unmissable voice in cozy fantasy, this tale shares the story of fae, folklore, and found family, told by a charismatic lake-dwelling monster with a voice unlike any other.

Beneath the still surface of a lake lurks a monster with needle sharp teeth.

Hungry and ready to pounce. Jenny Greenteeth has never spoken to a human before, but when a witch is thrown into her lake, something makes Jenny decide she's worth saving. Temperance doesn't know why her village has suddenly turned against her, only that it has something to do with the malevolent new pastor.

Though they have nothing in common, these two must band together on a magical quest to defeat the evil that threatens Jenny's lake and Temperance's family, as well as the very soul of Britain.

This is a tale of fae, folklore, and found family, perfect for fans of T. Kingfisher and Travis Baldree.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Charming, magical and intensely human, with grace notes of Pratchett and T. H. White, Greenteeth is a masterclass in the art of storytelling."—Tom Holt, author of The Portable Door
"A charmingly monstrous debut."—T. Kingfisher, author of Nettle and Bone
"Greenteeth is a delight--a joyful, warm-hearted adventure, riddled with unique characters and poignant friendships, rooted deep in old magic and myth. Jenny's voice will live in your head long after you leave her story behind."—H. G. Parry, author of The Magician’s Daughter
"Greenteeth is a completely delightful tale, full of warmth, wit and legendary adventure. As comforting and as moreish as a cup of tea and a packet of chocolate biscuits."—Francesca May, author of Wild and Wicked Things
"Greenteeth is a breathtaking quest through the wild roads and deep lakes of ancient England, shot through with dark folklore and darker magic. An unforgettable tale of unlikely friendships, impossible choices and the unbreakable bonds between mothers and daughters."—Holly Race, author of Six Wild Crowns

"In all my life, I've never loved such a flesh-eating fae monster as Molly O'Neill's Greenteeth. This coziest of swamp villains is an ally to witches, an enemy to elven airbags, and a role model to goblins everywhere. She stands proud with the likes of Granny Weatherwax and the Wizard Howl against the creeping evils of this world. Drown me, Jenny, and pick your teeth with my bones - only, let's be friends."

C. S. E. Cooney, World Fantasy Award winning author of Saint Death's Daughter
"An enchanting folkloric fantasy infused with fae magic and Arthurian legend, Greenteeth gives us a morally grey heroine with bite you can't help but root for. I was hooked from start to finish."—Alicia Jasinska, author of The Dark Tide

Editorial Review

Quests are better with friends
I’ve had an insatiable appetite for monster fiction since last year’s Someone You Can Build a Nest In, so Molly O’Neill’s debut rocketed to the top of my list this winter. Greenteeth’s monstrous protagonist is Jenny, a centuries-old lake monster who rescues Temperance, a witch who has been cast out of her home and tossed to her death in Jenny’s lake. What follows is a story of friendship and adventure that left me utterly smitten. Catrin Walker-Booth brings such authenticity and charm to these characters. Cosy fantasy fans, I hope your tea is already steeping for this one. —Sam D., Audible Editor

This is one book I saw in the book store and wanted it just bc of the cover. I came home and used a credit to listen first. I fell absolutely in love and would love more from Molly O’Neil!! This was one of those books you can’t just pause or put down. Give it a read!!

Truly a good read. Some slow bits at times not “action packed” but solid characters & great mythology

Some slow moments but worth it!

what more would you want from a story convining fairy, whitches, goblins, and unicorns

a bit predictable but a good cozy listen

I loved the slow simplicity of the story and the way it also managed to have an engaging plot line. Jenny Greenteeth is a character that you don’t come across often.

The narrator’s talent

I loved the story and the narration was absolutely wonderful! It had just the right amount of suspense, humor and fantasy.

The story was charming and was a welcome distraction from the divisive and hateful rhetoric so prevalent these days.

Greenteeth uses Arthurian legend as a backstory to a delightful adventure story with strong characterization and tone. I love a story about fey that’s able to capture the ethereal mess of the high fey while thoroughly grounding the rest in a world that feels lived-in. What the story lacks in individual character arcs, it makes up for with strong visuals and visceral action. Some of the dramatic beats can feel jam-fisted and overly drawn out, and a couple twists and turns along the way feel clunky in their execution, but overall, a stellar take on a post-Arthur Britain full of magic and life.

Excellent original Arthurian fantasy

excellent, well written, engaging and a little stressful as any climax in a great book is. I hope there will be more adventures in this world

The first half was awesome but it felt like the author didn’t quite know how to deal with the climax and ending. Seemed rushed
