Publisher's Summary

Alyssa Armsworth, a world-renowned photographer, has no intention of honoring the billionaire bride pact she made at camp to avoid getting whipped cream smeared on her face while she slept. Marriage is the last thing on her to-do list, and when her father forces his wealthy friends on her, she runs to Maui.

Her plan to jog on the beach, take some great pictures, and avoid men works - until Beckham Taylor arrives. Spending days on the ocean with the handsome ex-NHL star is ideal, but Alyssa's guilt for past transgressions begins to consume her. She doesn't think Beckham could ever forgive what she's done to him and his family. But before she can confess, her misdeeds are thrust onto the front cover of the tabloids. Now Alyssa must face her past or lose her future.

The Resilient One

I enjoyed this story. It was nice not to have repetitive, in-depth sex scenes. Instead, there was more character development and a story. There really needs to be a sexual assault trigger warning before this narration. My many years of working for a sexual assault crisis center inform this suggestion.

Heroine drove me crazy

This book started out ok but I just could not get over the whiny, clingy, abrasive heroine. She had a major past that would cause issues but every chance she got she jumped down the heros throat over little things that even she herself had noticed he wasn't doing. All that while she was keeping a major secret that he absolutely would have had the right to be upset about. I honestly cannot believe I made it through the book because she annoyed me so much.

Too clean but also needs trigger warnings

I usually don't write negative reviews but this book describes a couple of assaults but doesn't have a warning about violence and assault which is important. Other than that just not my type... Super clean and chaste, there's nothing more than a kiss between the main characters... My 81 year old, extremely conservative Christian mother would have loved it

Fun_

I loved the grandmother and the love story was sweet and believable. Also, the suspense with the father was an added bonus.

Cami Checketts has once again successfully entertained the reader!

As teenagers, five friends made a pact of which seemed incredibly impossible as they became adults.
However, Alyssa allowed Maren to talk her into a couple of schemes which
maybe her ultimate undoing .
This book has romance, suspense, and a “bucketful “ of various emotions. The author successfully connects with the reader . This book also displays the negative effects of giving into peer pressure.
The Narrator, Amy McFadden, did a very good job of presenting the various “voices”, and inv

Enjoyed very much!

I really enjoy reading clean romance stories, but throw in some adventure and danger and you've got me hooked!

All of Cami's books are interesting, entertaining, clean, sweet reads. I prefer that all the books I read or listen to, whether romance, western, murder mysteries, etc... be clean.

I'm not a prude, but... I believe the way to tell the difference between a good author & a great author who write any stories where a couple, (same sex or male/female) is this...

Any good author can tell a good story, but a really great author is one who can make you envision, in your mind, the bedroom scenes of that story without having to go into graphic details about what that couple does in bed.

There is way too much out there that entails language that does not need to be constantly heard. In books, especially on tv & in movies, & in day to day life.

The narrator, Amy McFadden is one of my favorite narrators. She adds lots of expression & dimension to all her books! I think she could read the dictionary & make it interesting! You can't go wrong with any book narrated by Amy!

Just say no to this one

Whiny and irritating are 2 of the most complimentary words I can think of for this "heroine". The story was implausible because there was no way anyone could have fallen for her! Narrator was annoying. I forced my way to the end thinking the story had to improve but it never did. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. I am deleting any books on my list with this Narrator. I just don't think I could survive another one.

Ugh.

I know. I know. If people were perfect, what would you write about. But, I get so irritated listening to these books where dishonesty and secrets should be told before they get too deep and instead they let things explode in a huge and hurtful way and then magically get a HEA.I can’t just root for those characters, especially when they’re whining and crying about how they’ve been wronged.

I really enjoyed this book I don't know why I saved it in my library for so long. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Urgh - do not bother

There was nothing to like about either of the main characters
Alisa - she moans, feels sorry for herself, gives nothing to others, she basically is self centred wanna be victim who feels the world owes her, but it really doesn’t.
Bec - is a complete push over who should have just walked away but the author tries to write like he is amazing, he just comes across as a mug. He really should have run in the first few pages.
I don’t often write reviews but even with this being included in my subscription l would not recommend it.
The narrator’s did the best they could with awful material.

Boring, Predictable, and Not Funny

This title was under romantic comedy. Both are a fail.

The chemistry between the protagonist and the LI was horrible. There was a little build-up and it was always a step off and awkward.

The story leads a step by step rather than an immersion into the lives of the characters.

The protagonist. I've gotta say, she is insufferable. She is bland and void of personality other than her trauma. There is nothing unique about her.

The only character that is mildly funny and interesting is the grandma.

The narration was decent with what she had to work with.
