Publisher's summary

There are a lot of personality tests out there designed to label you and put you in a particular box. But Dr. Caroline Leaf says there's much more to you than a personality profile can capture. In fact, you cannot be categorized!

In this fascinating book, she takes listeners through seven steps to rediscover and unlock their unique "you quotient" - the brilliantly original way each person thinks, feels, relates, and makes choices - freeing them from comparison, envy, and jealousy, which destroy brain tissue. Listeners learn to be aware of what's going on in their own minds and bodies, to lean in to their own experience rather than trying to forcefully change it, and to redefine what success means to them. Released from the suffocating box of expectations, they'll embrace their true identity and develop a clear sense of divine purpose in their lives.

Knowing and understanding our identity empowers our choices. Unlocking one's you quotient is not optional - it is essential.

Hands down, the most helpful book I've listened to

I've listed at at least 81 Audio books since joining Audible, all self improvement as I was in search of an inner makeover, including mind, body and spirit. Each book I've listened to has been helpful to me and I've found I would usually take one important theme from each book and begin to apply it to my own life. I love how each book has lead to the next with deeper meaning. This book in particular seems a true gift from God. Some of the book was quite technical in terms of how the mind and the brain worked. I hung on even if I didn't understand completely I learned so much. Then when I reached the part of the book with specific instructions on how to apply what I learned I listened every morning for a week to ten days so I would fully grasp the instructions. After only a few days of genuinely following through, I began to see little miracles, I am so encouraged and exited to see what God has in store for me next, after searching for a way to truly feel the joy of the Lord all my life, this author has given me a way to see and feel the glory of God. Yes, this is by far the most helpful book I've ever read.

Shocked

I was not aware this book was about God and was ultimately a religious book. I was expecting psychology and therapeutic advice and stories. I could just read the Bible for spiritual advice and encouragement. I understand some people would rather read books like this instead of the Bible I just wish it would have been more clear to the reader is that this book was more religious than anything

PDF Found!!

PDF can be downloaded if you go to your ONLINE audible account - not the app. The pdf was 100+ pages with graphs, assessment prompts, etc. I haven't finished the book yet but I LOVE Dr. Leaf's perspective on identity and tying together science and scripture - she makes so much sense and I've found other health experts say very similar things surrounding women's heath, mental health, and the difference between mind, brain, and soul! Amazing!

Helpful but perhaps better to read physical copy

The book is interesting but because of the exercises it's probably better to read a hard copy.

Very deep book

It is difficult to perform the surveys that are supposed to come with the book. I have not been able to locate them using the audio book app. The audio book is not interactive. I think of an audio book as one I can listen to in the car using a CD. The message is very good but I could not do the exercises and perform the surveys to help me to develop “the perfect you.” I hope I can get the PDF that comes with the book. If not, I may exchange the audio book.

Life-changing Book for Personal Growth

What made the experience of listening to The Perfect You the most enjoyable?

I have not listened to or read another book that gave me great hope in who God has made us to be... a perfect self... fully loved and ready to remove lies that do not bring life.

This is not a self-help book. Religious self-help

I was looking for a book about being the best me I can be. Big mistake spending this money. This is not a scientific book but a Christsentric self-help book. There is a New Testament citation at the end of every other pragraph or so like John 6:13. I should have looked deeper than the title. The only thing I'm more upset about than the lost money is the cloying, overly happy, girlish without a cause performance. Of course if Christ made you perfect is what you need to hear your milage and happy joy joy Christianity may very.

Great

This latest book by Dr. Caroline Leaf is all encompassing. It's got the neuroscience. It's got supporting scripture. It's got how to to change your toxic thinking. It's encouraging and interesting. Great resource.

Great for Christians, strange for a Norwegian?

This talks about God, a lot. It sort of suggests that you cannot become a perfect you unless you subscribe to God and the Bible as the most inspiring teaching in the universe. If you do, this book is probably very inspiring. If you do not, this book is very strange. I do not believe in God, although I see that it can lead to happiness for many and can be used as a tool for dealing with life. Personally the narration is a dealbreaker. Margaret Winston sounds like she has seen the light, and I can almost feel her intense eyes piercing through me, herself not doubting a single uttered word. So for Norwegian readers who are not personally Christians I recommend Dr. Leafs book "Think, Learn, Succeed" instead. That book is a whole new ball game.

Amazing synthesis of disciplines.

Dr Leaf has long impressed me with her work in neuropsychology but this book introduces scientific and spiritual insights into the relationship between mind and spirit. Something that most everyone failed at in prior decades. It is an amazing book.

Deceiving

I haven’t even gotten 5 mins into this book and all it’s going on about is God and spirit blah blah blah...this wasn’t mentioned in the description. What a waste of $$
