The best of the trilogy

Dash of Oceans 8 or 11, Oliver Twist, Annie and Cinderella. Narration is perfection. Story is just my cup of tea. Madeline Hunter’s female characters are from the working class and have relatable personalities. A respite from the ladies of the ton whose mamas major goal in life is to marry a titled man.

Complexity of the plot

Fantastic story and superb narrative. Eloquent and entertaining delivery of both the plot and character backgrounds.

Strong start but too long

Good story and interesting figuring out what the FMC was up to and why.

Later she became more reckless and foolish whereas before she was very smart and measured. She became annoying and the story lost interest for me except for wanting to know about the FMC’s mother

Mystery, Intrigue, Romance-Makes for a great story

My first Madeline Hunter novel. Loved it! I thought the length would mean I would have to bear many inner thoughts. Not so. The book was filled with dialogue that told the story. Rosalyn Landor did a great job of narration. My only regret is that I read the 2nd of the decadent dukes novels first. Now the story of Clara and the Duke of Stratton will be anti-climactic.

Loved this!

I loved the narrator. She’s wonderful. And the story is mysterious and engaging. The characters are lovable. I found myself wishing them both well.

Another wonderful story

I’m loving getting to know all these characters in this series. They are charming and endearing. These are great easy listening books that keep me entertained.

Great story

Perfect narration as always from Rosalyn Landor. Funny at times. Tearful. But wonderfully romantic. I loved both H/H. But Amanda was terrific. I loved that she didn't quibble at end and blather on about not being worthy. Recommend.

Love it!

This book (#2) is 10 times better than the first book. If you just finish the first book and you're not sure if you want to read the rest of the series I recommend that you do. I could not stop reading the second book. I am very much looking forward to reading book number three.

Interesting and Fun

I love MH books and I enjoyed the story of Amanda and Gabriel. Amanda's background was interesting. The chemistry between the two was on point. My only complaint is that at times the story fell short especially toward the end. There are even areas where the storyline didn't make sense to me. I was interested enough to find out about Amanda's mother and the people involved with her. I would listen again just to get an understanding of what didn't make sense to me.

Loved it.

I certainly recommend this historic romance. I have listened to it 2 times. I would Do it again.
