Performance

I have loved this whole series but this performance has disappointed me as this is not read with a New Zealand accent, the narrator has an Australian accent. I'm fond of Australians of course but we do have quite different accents. This was hard to shake off but the performance was well done otherwise.

Mix of History & Fiction, but drags a bit

I love the Seven Sisters series & was so happy to see this one appear in Audible. I love the mix of History with the fictional characters life! I'm addicted & need to see this through to the end to finally know who PA Salt is, but this one dragged a bit for me... the character Mary (also known as Merry?) was not my favorite & I was so annoyed with her by the end of the book. It felt like this book dragged on a bit. I loved how the others were structured. Hope the next book isn't as annoying. But I will anxiously await the next book in the series!

I was very disapointed.

I have read many of this author's books and the complete "Sisters" series. Not only did this book just end with telling that another book would be out in 2022, I did not care for the story or the main character. She was very inmature. I do not expect I will waste my money on the next book.

No, I do not want to wait for another year!!

The story as always is will written with little lead ins that keep you reading, but the end says the next part will not come out till fall next year. We waited a long time for this part. It doesn't seem fair!!!!

The best book in a stellar series

I enjoyed Merope’s story immensely. Lucinda Riley has a beautiful way of weaving fascinating stories together. I am so sad to hear that she recently died.

not worth waiting for

I have listened to all 7 Sisters books. Until the very end of the 7th I thought that was all there was. Several could have been combined together as they were dragged out and repeated over and over. This one was the worst. Could have easily been told in half the book and the other have devoted to Pa's story. What a crummy way to sell more books. I will not be purchasing the 8th book. I will never read or listen to another book by this author.

I read some of the reviews who were disappointed in this one....I really was not, I almost think this was one of the best of the series. Can't wait to read the next!

Masterful as always - farewell Lucinda Riley

As I was listening to the last 35 minutes of this amazing book I heard of the very sad passing of Lucinda Riley. What a gifted writer of fiction. I’ve travelled the world with her. She will be missed by all who loved to read her work. May she Rest In Peace. May her family be granted all the courage and strength they need at this time. Thank you Lucinda.

Simply the best!

I have read all the other missing sisters books on my Kindle this is the first one I have listened to on audible. It was so well narrated and being Irish myself and living in England for many years I fully understood the history. This story is certainly different to the others and was wonderful to see all the sisters united in their search for Mary who finally ended up in Ireland.
You do have to have read the previous novels as this ties up some threads for those books. I was disappointed that I now have to wait till 2022 to find out Pa Salt’s journey.
Having read all Lucinda Riley’s books now she has an amazing talent putting together a personal story linking to the facts of the time involved. Her attention to detail Is second to none!
I know I have a waiting game to hear about Pa Salt’s life and his involvement with each of the adopted sisters ….. I can’t wait!

Absolutely a dream of a book

There is nothing I can say which is negative apart from….it ended!!

This not a book I’d usually go to but I fancied something different.
I’m glad that I did.

I can’t wait the next book to arrive and follow the story.

There were times I cried and times I laughed. Thankfully I was alone or my family would have thought I was a crazy person

And incredible story, highly recommend it

Cross about book 8 and poor narration

I, like many, have been waiting for a long time for the conclusion to this 7 book series. Ah no, it’s now an 8 book series. Sorry, Lucinda Riley, I’m a fan but this shameless money making is quite offensive to fans. There was plenty that could’ve been cut out of this rambling, directionless book to make room to finish the series as expected. And, it apparently matters to the author to get the right narrator. The terrible antipodean accent and slow drawl of these narrators missed the mark. And why was Tiggy the only sister with a (bad) French accent? Weren’t all the sisters brought up together? Consistency would’ve been good. I’m quite disappointed.

Excellent

I have loved this book just as much as the other six in the series and I can't wait for the book about Pa Salt . The depth of the stories are marvellous, the amount of background history is fantastic. If I have a criticism it is that I find it a shame that the same people cannot be employed to read the particular sister they have been as a main character.
In 'The Sun Sister' the sister had a rich black American voice, that was so relaxing. In 'The Missing Sister' the same character was very English and in some of the other books she had a French accent! The only thing that spoiled the almost perfect books for me.

Fine but frustrating

The storyline was solid but I just didn't engage with the historical subject matter. Perhaps it's because I'm British and Ireland's not exotic enough! I was interested enough to listen to the end though.

However, the biggest disappointment was that the book did not conclude the saga of the Seven Sisters!! And I have to wait another 15 months or so for Part 8.

EDIT:I have just discovered that the author passed away recently. I'm sad that I might never find out about Pa Salt but more so I'm grateful for the lovely books I have read and listened to in the last 2 years by this author. She write captivating stoires.

Utterly brilliant

I had the date in my diary for the publishing of this book, purchased it on that day and have savoured every chapter. Lucinda Riley has again written with excellence, thoroughly, detailed research bringing together the seven sisters series. Reading this made me want to read all the others again and I may well as we now wait for October 2022 for the final book to be published.

I loved it, I LOVED ALL OF THE STORIES, but this was my favourite

I a loved this missing sister last book, I loved ALL of the books that Lucinda wrote in this series of books, this last book (fir now) though very long, is my favourite, I am so sad to hear that Lucinda has passed away, that was a horrible shock, as I have fallen in love with her writings, I feel as though I have lost someone very special in my life, I have 3 sisters, and reading Lucindas story’s of each of these sisters, has made me realise Although all bought up under the same roof, and all treated the same, we are all so different, just like these 7 sisters, I am so glad there is a final book on PA SALT, to tie the whole story together, though I am confused if Lucinda has passed away, who will be writing it? As it says it will not be out until Autumn 2022, I may have to revisit each of theses stories again, to remind me of where Pa Salt comes in, Thank you Lucinda, where ever you are in this universe, for your amazing imagination, and story writing skills, I will not forget you ❤️❤️❤️

It's long....

I was so excited to start this final chapter in the Seven Sisters. It started in New Zealand, my home, how wonderful! Unfortunately the NZ accent was not well done & it was definitely more of an Ozzie twang, however...
Then Lucinda passed away 😢, my condolences to her whanau (extended family/loved ones).
I read on.
Then I heard that all was not to be revealed in this book, oh no!
I read on.
Now this book is done, questions are answered, but more are raised. Please, please someone confirm that Pa Salt's story will be published in autumn 2022 as promised!

Enjoyed the Irish story

I usually enjoy the historical storylines the most, this was no exception. Piqued my interest for Irish history for sure.
Enjoyed the Irish voices in the narration a great deal.
Definitely didn’t for the Jack and Mary Kate characters. The Kiwi accent was way off and was very unpleasant to hear.
Mostly excellent though.

Disappointing

Deeply disappointed at the seemingly thrown together and disorganised way in which this, supposedly, last book in the series, played out. I feel the author has done herself an injustice. Here's hoping the next one is back to standard. #stillafan

Excellent story line.

Loved the story but as a kiwi cringed everytime Jack or Mary-Kate spoke. The accent was more Australian than the Australians!! A little more research on Maori pronunciation and N.Zed accent would have made it perfect!!
