This is a great start to a new series, can’t wait for the next book!

this is a good book I was pleasantly surprised, if you like suave opera aliens and ancient forerunner aliens and tech you'll love it

Awesome Space Adventure

Best space adventure I have read, can't wait till the next book in the series.

Well written and Narrated-

Not just another space opera, interesting twists on recognizable concepts combined with Jeffrey Kater won't let you down!

Wanted to love it, but it's an amateur story

Not the worst, but the author commits the story sin of having the characters state a situation is ridiculous to magically make readers think it's not ridiculous. That doesn't work.

Solid popcorn sci-fi story!

Not sure what other reviews are talking about but if you enjoy a solid guy saves the universe story with cool tech then you'll like this series. No, it isn't super thought provoking or dark and gloomy grim dark or even noble bright...but it isn't meant to be either. It's a popcorn movie level story and it does a great job. There's lots of action, humor, character development, universe building and, different twists in the plot to keep it fresh. So ignore the review who is apparently looking for some grand theatrical mindgasm or deep philosophical epiphany...just give this one a try!

If you're looking for an audiobook, this is one.

This is not a story rooted in science. It is not an unpredictable plot that keeps you guessing. It is not a grand space opera with dashing heroes, sweeping action and insightful storytelling. It does have good character interaction, clever banter, and a great narrator.
If you don't mind a really silly plot point (really...a giant humanoid mech, in space, and built by non-humanoids?), trite and well-worn bad guy stereotypes, and either don't know the difference between damping and dampening or don't care, you might just like this one. If you've listened to Jeffrey Kafer before, you already know what he adds to every book he narrates, and is probably why you're considering this book.
It's a fun story and mostly well-paced. Nothing boring or drawn out. Give it a go.

Really good

This was a fun romp. Pure escapism that feels like the old pulp scifi of the 60s mixed with the mecha anime of the 80s. I’ve never read anything quite like it.

It does take a bit before we see the mech, but once it comes into the picture, things really take off.

Great story line!

I'm ready for the next performance! Lots of suspense, with a character I can see as Harrison Ford!
