Contains books one and two of The Forever Series.

Jon Ryan is irreverent, cocky, funny, and walks with a swagger. He says what he means, he says what he wants to, and, in fact, he says what needs to be said.

The cocky fighter pilot turned astronaut is also Earth's only chance for survival. The planet Jupiter, thrown off orbit, will destroy Earth in less than a century. Jon volunteers for the most ambitious, desperate mission ever conceived: His consciousness must be transferred into an experimental android host, where he'll live an immortal - and lonely - life. Jon's only companion on his 50-year voyage is his ship's irritable AI.

After successfully journeying for decades and locating a suitable human resettlement, Jon begins to discover the wonders life can hold, including the power of family and, for once, true peace. But no good deed, or good man, goes unpunished.

The US president wants him dead and is willing to sacrifice his own people to eliminate Jon. An alien species has vowed a holy war to eliminate all humans, either on Earth or wherever they might run. Only Jon can protect humans from their enemies.

With the best planet for colonization ruled by an ancient, malevolent species, there may be no hope for humans in a crowded galaxy. The limits of human technology may not be sufficient. The limits of Jon's endurance may not be enough. His endless enemies may prove to be unstoppable.

Jon may have forever, but does humanity have any future at all?

Great storytelling, full of twists and turns. Who impressed me the most was the narrator, Scott Aiello. There are only a few narrators (like Ray porter) who can really make the story. I was beginning to lose hope that those select few were it but Scott did a phenomenal job narrating! Will look for his work again!

Good story!

Great series, not incredibly complex, but a great fun listen. You are best off starting with this book, but you can pick up the series at other points.

A lot of fun

While I could suffer thru it, it was silly. Minimal intellect used in character and story development.. it was just a mediocre redo of the bobiverse story with a couple different and easier, less imaginative twists. The main character's sense of humor is.. annoyingly flippant and the AIs petulant attitude falls very short of its copy cat Skippy inspired personality which further detracts from the story, but the narrator does a decent job with making the best of a stupid script. I really wanted to like the book but sadly found it lacking in comparison to other sci fi / AI novels. Generally speaking: 5/10 and prob dont bother with a sequel.

Mediocre spin off of Bobiverse story. Meh..

This book is a solid story with a good narrator. Picture an F-15 having a baby with Downton Abbey, then the baby was raised by two engineers who only talk before sex or after an exciting discovery. I truly enjoyed every second of it and can’t wait to hear more.

Excellent Listen, worth the purchase.

Good story..but to back hand President Trump ..disappointed. Left office 100% non- dependent on oil.

Writers prerogative..

If you’re a moderate like me, you’ll likely find the strong left presumptions throughout tedious. I’m shipping the rest of the series. It’s a shame really, I really enjoyed the sci-fi.

Too much modern politics mixed in

Enjoyed the storyline. Scott Aiello is an excellent narrator. One unfortunate thing about the first two books is that the author could not hide the fact that he’s a libtard suffering from TDS. I am glad the first two books were included in my audible subscription. I would’ve paid extra to continue the series but not now.

Enjoyable, but…

Mc is naive at times for plot reasons and the antagonists are comicaly evil strawmen.

Interesting story.

The authors own sense of superiority comes through solidly with his main character. The overt hypocrisy on display by his main characters attitude and the speed with which he is willing to abandon diplomacy in exchange for openly insulting the leaders of alien worlds and acts surprised at their hostility. Then in turn when various aliens visit him and his world and they make no attempt at diplomacy, it is again their fault all the while he’s openly mocking them. In one scene when he attempts to describe an android attempting to connect to the IT infrastructure of a facility. He actually said the Android made a connection with the “main frame” as of it is 1980 And the scene being described was in the near future. Think the WOPR from WarGames. That’s a Main Frame. IT hasn’t used main frames in decades. We actually use severs in the early 21st century. Just passing on the message.

Overly Cheesy and a Surprising Lack of Knowledge on current IT Nomenclature
