HELL DIVERS: A HEAVENLY THRILLER!

"Hell Divers #1" was even better (based on all the great reviews I read prior) than expected. An absolutely amazing thrill ride, start to finish, with well developed, multidimensional, realistic characters.

I was familiar with Sansbury Smith's work from his "Extinction Horizon" (Zombie) series, and went through them, one after the other, till I had to wait for his newest release, and preordered that one.

This book had it all. . . mystery, suspense, nonstop thrills, and horror all perfectly mixed in. I did not read the synopsis for book #2 for until I finished this one, so was surprised by the ending, and thought it was perfect!

Looking forward to moving onto book #2 in this series soon, and cannot recommend Mr. Sansbury Smith's work highly enough. He is definitely not a one hit wonder, and is (quite honestly) just terrifically talented, and gets what readers/listeners seek in thriller/horror books.

It goes without saying that narrator R.C. Bray is phenomenal. Whenever I see his name listed as the person narrating I know the listening experience will be well beyond expectations! :)

I've listened to a good amount of Audiobooks. But this book is DEFINITELY one of my top 5. The storyline was awesome, the action perfect. I loved the narrator, he brought some great emotions. I love this book!

The opposite of boring!

Amazing. Time for the sequel.

Rc Bray is the perfect narrator for Military type characters, super good.

Standard fare

Nothing surprising about this book. If you listen a lot then you know how it is when your minds drifts for a couple of minutes, and you have to rewind to make sure nothing was missed. Well, I didn't have to rewind while listening to this book. Not because my mind didn't drift, but because I knew there was nothing to worry about.
True "airport fiction".

better than Walking Dead

this book was great it was just like watching Walking Dead except that the zombies in this book don't convert you to zombies they just die the difference with them is that they are ferocious I like it much better when the zombies can fight this would be a great TV series

Nice beginning to a series

Honestly, I bought this because it was on sale (I actually got the whole series, so I am glad I liked the first one) and sounded interesting. This book begins the Hell Divers series and is set on earth after a nuclear holocaust and with the last of humanity trying to survive in old warships held aloft by helium. Hell Divers sky dive down to earth to retrieve supplies to keep the floating warships alive and this book introduces the series and main characters. I don't want to spoil the book, so I will leave my review with the following:
- The book is well paced and keeps the reader wondering what the next step in the story will be.
- Good character development
- Believable story line and the end of first book closes the current chapter but leaves enough loose ends to keep you coming back,
I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Creative

I don't know if it's because of the current pandemic we all are facing, but this book resonates with me as it gives us a grim and yet a realistic view of what can happen.

Great Scifi story

The entire story was very original unlike anything I have ever heard. If you enjoy apocalypse styled books this is definitely a good one!

a great book

Firstly, the performance of the book was great! Secondly, the story is gripping making you feel all the amotions that characters have and go along with the characters as they go through difficult situations they face. I 'm not a fan of science fiction, but this one I would definitely recommend!

Loved every minute of the book. It's like eating a steak dinner with a pint of Guinness. just damn good.
