Publisher's summary

This box-set includes the Blade Trilogy-the first three books (complete arc) of The Magelands Eternal Siege: The Mortal Blade, The Dragon's Blade, and The Prince's Blade.

Stolen from his home, Corthie Holdfast has arrived in the City of the Eternal Siege as a new Champion.

He must fight alongside the Blades, whose lives are dedicated to the defense of the City against the hordes of monstrous Greenhides; or die at the hands of the Gods who rule.

Maddie Jackdaw, a young Blade, faces her last chance. Thrown out of every unit defending the City, either she takes on a new role, or she will be sent to the Rats, a company of misfits given the perilous tasks beyond the Great Walls.

Her new role, if she takes it, will bring her face to face with her deepest fears, for beneath the walls, in a secret and hidden lair, lies a dragon, imprisoned and waiting....

Awesome series

I love that this is a 3-in-1 Honestly this could be a standalone series if you wanted it to be. Following 4 different people and their stories I was struggling to understand Daniel's purpose but trusted the process and waited to see what part he had to play.

Let's just say I was not disappointed. The entire story is great and I found myself wanting to listen to it as often as I could.

With mortals, gods, demigods and dragons the politics and sorry state of the entire situation is 100% believable with everything coming to a satisfactory conclusion. What I love is that I can easily end the story here without upset.

But I'm too attached to the characters to let their story end here, so I'll keep going to see what happens next.

What a CrackerJack of a saga...with more to come!

Mortal Blade

This is a CrackerJack of a story! I stumbled across this, in an ad on Facebook and damn I'm glad 😊 I did!
As the story unfolds you realize that it's actually following 4 different storylines, And that all of 'em take place in the God City.
The first introduced is Aila and we learn right away that not only can she change her appearance with glamor but that she also a top tier assassin... the second is Corthie Holdfast a mortal and inducted into the Blade's to fight against the Greenhides an insectoid race and surprisingly Corthie has god-like Battle-vision and he can also see through glamor, next we learn about Maddie Jackdaw a somewhat argumentative young woman that is seriously just trying to hang on and join the Blade's but her chances keep slipping by. The forth and final POV is Daniel Aurelian a young officer joining the militia. All the stories are fascinating in their own right and seemingly independent of each other until they're not!!
Ohhhh and did I mention that there are Dragons, only 2 but jeez how many do you need?!?
I happened to really like Shaun Grindell narration so go ahead and grab this awesome book or better yet the boxed set...

Dragon's Blade

As far as most trilogies go this seemingly is following suit. Although I really know that it's actually gonna be a trilogy, however this does have all the earmarks of spanning the chasm between books 1 and 3. As there's a lot of darkness and rainfall before we can move on to the next book... and of course I need to take a break before I'm ready to start the next book, Prince's Blade.

Prince's Blade

As I suspected Christopher Mitchell pulls out all stops as he wrote this damn fine explosive conclusion, to this part of Magelands Eternal Seige! This maybe the last time we see Daniel and Emily Aurelian. But I definitely know we'll be seein' the rest of the characters in the future books that are yet to come...

Can this please become movie!

Well written. Love the characters and the storyline. Narrator did an excellent job. Someone needs to get this into a movie or a mini series.

3 books in one credit, it’s a no brainer

Christopher Mitchell is a fantastic writer with a small following. Jump on the train early before you miss him because he has the potential to blow up big time.

This story is woven with myth and lore. It’s unique and very easy to listen to once you learn the names and characters. Hang on, it’s got some good twists and turns. Not entirely predicable.

Never giving up hope, and knowing love will prevail with faith.

Well, three books all time together a story with lots of twist, and turns on the edge of despair with eternal hope.

depressing so far

halfway through the second book and it's all hella depressing nothing good happens to what I'm guessing are the heroes of this story. I really don't want to finish this series. I can't see how this gets better. it's not even like these characters are learning new things or getting stronger or anything just more depression. I'm good life is already sad enough
