Great Read

The List: College of Charleston, Book One was a great read by Kate L. Mary. Annie and her new friend make a list of twenty things every girl should do before they turn twenty. Annie hasn't experienced many things before going to college because of her over-protective father. Things get complicated when best friends, Ryan and Chris, both fall for Annie. But Annie only wants Ryan. I enjoyed reading Annie and Ryan's story and can't wait to read more by Kate L. Mary.

Great Story!

This was my first Kate L. Mary's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the College of Charleston Series. This is a great coming-of-age story. Annie, Chris and Ryan are great character. My favorite is Ryan! Cami, Annie's best friend, is also a beautiful character. I like the friendship in this story. I loved to follow Annie in her quest. The storyline is original and captivating. Lucy Emerson did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to this story. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series, No Regrets, Cami's story.

Interesting concept that doesn't pay off

After being sheltered by her overprotective father and brothers, a young woman embarks on her college journey feeling like she's missed out on life's "teenage" adventures. Alongside her roommate, they compile a to-do list to make up for lost time. While the concept they concoct is enjoyable, it fails to deliver the expected thrill. The backstory leading to her rebellion feels underdeveloped, leaving her transformation into a somewhat bratty and borderline stalkerish character toward her love interest unconvincing. Additionally, her situation lacks uniqueness, making it challenging to justify her becoming the center of attention among her peers. Surprisingly, I found myself sympathizing more with the hero and his storyline rather than the heroine's.

My favorite kind of romance story!

I loved this book. Kate L. Mary had a way of making the characters come to life and bringing you right into the story. Lucy Emerson did an excellent job narrating as well. One of the few who could make the male's voice believable as well. I'm hoping one of the sequels involves the guy who missed out (no spoilers here:), because he too was such a likeable guy!

An excellent coming-of-age story of sorts

This is a great coming-of-age story of sorts. The character development is great! The characters are multifaceted so I found myself liking the protagonist (Annie) one minute then scolding her the next, so you're easily immersed into the story. I like how the story explored certain themes such as mental illness in a way that is not heavy. The story line was very well-rounded and balanced - there's romance, comedy, friendship, grief... I'm really looking forward to the next books in the series. The narration was excellent. Well done Lucy Emerson!
