I love the writing of this author with great characters. The humor is subtle but I love it. I just wish the whole series would just continue!!

TOO FUN AND ADDICTIVE. BB’S BOOKS ARE ALL ENCHANTING, FUN AND HISTORICALLY INTERESTING. FROM A FAN THAT HAS 30 BOOKS GOING AT ONCE… WHEN HIS MARIUS AND LORD “E” BOOKS COME OUT THAT SAME DAY THE OTHER 29 ARE ON HOLD UNTIL I FINISH THE LATEST AND GREATEST!

Love this Author!

This is my second book I’ve read by him and he is quickly becoming one of my top 10 favorites! I suppose what I’m enjoying the most right now is that I am never able to guess who the culprit is until he/she is unveiled. What fun. I love cozies no matter what—but that is a first. The characters are delightful! Love Marius! Wish I had named one of my sons Marius—the teasing would never cease—but what a great name. The book has no teasing, gratuitous sex, no swearing—just delightful story line. I hope as I read all of his books the delight will continue.

Clever ending

I’ll admit I got tricked. I took the easy obvious bait red herring, but it was actually a fun read

Delightful!

For me, character and community, make the cozy part of cozy mysteries. This novel is perhaps the most delightful I’ve read so far in a truly delightful series. Author and narrator are superb.

Fun and captivating story with great narration.

The narrator had a beautiful soothing voice, which was ever so pleasant to listen to. He was also able to give each character their distinct voice, so one did not get confused with the dialogues.
The story was very fun, interesting and captivating. I enjoyed the tidbits and extra info at the end of the book too with regard to the author’s research.

Book 2

I am pleasantly surprised, I enjoyed book 2 more than book 1. To clarify, I did like book one very much! Marius is more likeable, as well, in book 2, maybe I understand him a bit more this time around.

I had a suspicion of who the killer was but my top choice turned out to be innocent! I like to be kept guessing and that doesn't happen as often as I would like. I am looking forward to book 3.

Good characters and plot. Like relationships of characters . Good narration. Good sense of time and place.

I love Benedict Brown's historical books

His characters are well drawn and consistent. I like his main guy's often self-effacing attitude but curious and quick comebacks. I enjoy the way he writes the dogs into the stories, even giving them character and sometimes help in the investigation. Haha.
The mystery is wonderful in its unfolding, but I have to admit the historical research at the endings are as interesting. I look forward to them.
The narrator is outstanding, however his voicing of Marius is just like Christopher in the Lord Rdginton books. But I don't mind at all. He's such a good reader.

I love this series

The first Marius Quin was great, this is equally good. I am happy to enjoy Lord Edgington and company along with Marius and Bella. Its a fun mystery where everyone gets along. I am so tired of Police Officers with baggage. Equally boring is conflict in the police department. That formula has been overdone. This is good clean family entertainment with a nice little history lesson at the end.
