Publisher's Summary

King Solomon was wealthy and wise beyond measure. He could - and did - have anything he wanted, including many women from many lands. But for all his wisdom, did he or the women in his life ever find what they searched for all of their lives?

In this engrossing novel, you'll find yourself whisked away to ancient Israel, where you'll meet Solomon and four of the women he loved: Naamah the desert princess, Abishag the shepherdess, Siti, the daughter of a pharaoh, and Nicaula, the queen of Sheba. As you experience the world of Solomon through his eyes and the eyes of these women, you'll ask yourself the ultimate question: Did Solomon's wisdom ultimately benefit him and those he loved...or did it betray them?

A bit cheesy

I couldn’t get through the second chapter of the audiobook. The reader wasn’t very good and she adds to the cheesiness. I doubt it’s a bad read, it’s just not for more mature readers who enjoy more advanced writing. It would probably be a great book for a teenager!

Absolutely loved the narrator. The storyline was very good. Much of the story was based on the Bible.

the heart of a king

A great book on Solomon and I love the weaving of scripture into the story. It will drive you to the scriptures to read more of his life.

Terribly good

This was terribly good. This book is obviously fiction, but it makes a lot of sense. A bunch of young adults making bad long term decisions and suffering through the consequences. Women looking for love. A man looking to spread his love. Not much different from today. It didn’t explain how Solomon’s heart turned from God in the conclusion. My conclusion: He didn’t

Thought provoking

Thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining and illuminating. Thought provoking and challenging for anyone who has enjoyed the Song of Solomon and the book of Ecclesiastes- which happens to be one of my favourites. Jill brings Solomon to life in a meaningful way and describes events from his life and times in such a manner that the reader cannot but become immersed in the life of his court. Highly recommended...
