Worst narration I've ever heard

I still have several hours left and I will finish this regardless. I really like the story, the writing is fabulous. However, the narrator....I don't want to be unkind, but oof, this is hard to listen to. He has assigned Brooklyn accents to some of the characters, but this doesn't hold throughout, seems to come and go. This is set in a small town in upstate New York not New York City. A few of his interpretations are very reminiscent of the 3 Stooges, And as a bonus, every once in a while a Southern accent drifts through. Like back woods Arkansas. This accent doesn't hang around thankfully. Again: oof.
Kerr, you have a lovely voice when you're not trying out accents, but by all that's holy, please please rethink what you've done here.

terrible narration

I had to stop listening. the narration was awful. the accents and the character voices were way off. ot was his incessant demon laughter was what finally made me unable to continue. too bad, though, because the story line was okay.

The Hag

This was a really good horror novel! The characters were well written, even down to creepy Mason. Horrible things have happened every so many years on a lake in upper New York. In 1986 the horrific murders lead to a child coming back as an adult to fight again. Narration by Kerr Lordygan was terrific. was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

2nd installation.

The story can be hard to follow with jumping back and forth through time and story lines but it all eventually makes sense and ties together. I look forward to the next book.

My biggest complaint, and the one that had me really thinking about stopping the book very early on, was the narration. This guy seems to have a very limited range for voices and can get annoy AF. Glad I stuck it out but hoping the next book has a different narrator(?).

Great story, brought to life by Kerr Lordygan’s narration.

If you love Stephen King’s book, you must not miss Erik’s novel, The Hag. The tug of war in a little boy with the interplay of guilt, justification and regret keeps you at the edge of your seat. The awesome narration by Lordygan brings to life the riveting horror tale.

The Hag

Downloaded the first part of the series a few years ago and had no clue it was part of a series, recently discovered that the other two books in the series had been added to audible and was super excited to finally finish the series. Absolutely disappointed in the narration of the second book, the first narrator set certain expectations and inflections from the characters that are not continued on the second book. Characters came off more as whiny this time around, the story line is solid but this narrator did not do a good job of following the portrayal of the characters that were done in the first. If you are looking to pick up this series you might want to just pick up a physical copy of the book and read it that way, I wish I had done that as now I am unsure if I want to risk listening to the final installment on audible or just buy the book and read it myself. This is not to say that Kerr Lordygan is a bad narrator but to warn people that there is a big difference between the narration of Stephen Bel Davies and Kerr Lodygan for the images portraited between the first and second book.

Great book, terrible narration.

Absolutely loved Book 1 of the series (Demon King) with the fantastic narration from Stephen Bel Davies who I feel was a perfect fit, but could not get past the terrible change of narrator for this book. This narrator (Kerr Lordygan) was flat, unexciting, jumbled pronunciations, and did not fit the vibe or feel of the book whatsoever.

Multi Layered Story

The Hag is a multi layered story that is a bit confusing as it jumps back and forth through time within the same segments. Don't get me wrong the storylines are interconnected but it is a little hard to keep up with so many demons and how they fit within the title. I was given this book for free upon my request. This is my honest unbiased review that I am voluntarily leaving of my own volition.

Terrible Narrator

I really enjoyed the first book and I thought the narration was top-notch, so I expected this book to be the same. The story has an intriguing premise, and I saw myself wanting to know more about this storyline, but it quickly delved into the storyline from book one, and it left me wanting more about the storyline of book 2. I do enjoy this writer, but that was a little disappointing, because he had the opportunity to expand his world and not just live in one city of it and he didn’t seem to take advantage of that. He has great ideas and the talent to get there, but just doesn’t quite make the bridge somehow

The narrator drove me nuts. There’s no other way to say it. It’s like he turned the characters into cartoon versions of the characters in book one. I got the distinct impression he thought he was voicing a book for children. The state patrol officer all of a sudden became a 12-year-old boys version of what a wise guy would sound like from jersey and the cop Michael sounded like the Looney Tunes character that used to say”where did he go, George? Where did he go?” Just utterly ridiculous voice choices, and he couldn’t keep them all straight. They constantly were getting melded into one another and Lord help him on the women’s voices... one sounded like something between a southern bell and a seductress and the bad guy female sounded like an 80-year-old hag and if you’ve read the first book, you would know that’s not her visage that she appears in. He obviously didn’t do any reading of the book or even asked for a cliff notes version of book one, so he could familiarize himself with the characters.
I have two hours left, and I’m probably going to just return the book because I can’t stand what the narrator has done to destroy the storyline for me
And sadly, I won’t even be able to listen to the book 3 in the series because it’s the same narrator as this one. when it comes to an audible book, the narrator can make a break a book, and this one definitely broke it at least for me. I’ve already noted his name so I can avoid anything else he does .
