3 hrs of my life I won’t get back….

Actually was a Patterson fan, of the writer and the man. Throw in John Lithgow and I was in. And then….oh no. It was like watching someone fall off a cliff in slow motion!
It was my disbelief in the original plot, my hope that things were going to turn around eventually, that kept me listening to till the mind numbing end. After which I felt like an idiot for spending the time.
Wow James….

A Real Surprise.

I was excited to find this Patterson short story. It was delightful I enjoyed hearing all the different characters voices. It was a cross between a spoof and a mystery. I felt like I was actually watching it on a Broadway way stage. Bravo!

Amazing performances and production

This is one of the best Audible Originals out there. The actors are amazing . Of course John Lithgow at his best. It was like listening to. Real Broadway play with great sound effects and of course the music. The twists and turns in the story are so good. What a fun listen and member benefit. Thank you Audible.

Not James Patterson's best work

I love MOST of James Patterson's work and broadway/theater shows, but this one isn't for me. Wayyy too much like a soap opera and I didn't care how this performance split up for recaps like commercials. Totally unnecessary.

Loved every minute ...could not stop listening!

All of the actors were superb! Even figuring it out half way through did not deter me from finishing it in one sitting. Felt like I was in a theater in the round watching everything live and close-up. Well written and produced. Would not change a thing! Well done All!!!!

I'm not a fan of audio dramas, but this was great!

When Audible sent me the recommendation, I decided to give it a try even though it only had one review at the time. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the acting was. The story was told very well with almost no narration. I finished it in two days because I just needed to know what was going to happen next. I'd definitely recommend listening if you're interested.

Painful

This could have been reduced to half of the listening time as a lot of repetitive dialogue which made it painful. I could/would have stopped listening half way through except for wanting to know the outcome which was very predictable.
Glad this was a free listen and didn't use a credit on it.

Irritating and repetitive

Was fooled into investing two hours listening before deciding that there was so much tedious repetition to carry on! I kept hoping that there would be some development in the plot, but in the end decided not to waste any more time on it. I found none of the characters were particularly likeable and some were just irritating (perhaps this was deliberate?)!
The narrators' performance was great, however!

really silly

the suspension of disbelief only goes so far. there is a good cast and some good bits but ultimately the premise is too silly to get behind. I did like the final twist though.

Unusual and worth a listen

This was quite the experiment in format. It seemed to struggle to settle on a tone and the switch between melodrama etc… was sometimes jarring but did add to keeping the listener slightly uncomfortable. The music was very annoying and although it has a strong plot point it kept drawing the ear away from the action which somewhat shot itself in the foot. Performances were great. Plot very interesting and it’s worth mentioning the amazing job the sound team did given some of this was recorded in cast’s homes.
It’s been given a mixed set of reviews and this is no different but press on and it falls into place.

Nice twist

I haven't listened to anything like this before and when it started I wasn't sure but I actually enjoyed it.

I had it playing in the background whilst I was completing household tasks and it was easy to follow and over before I knew it. nothing about it blew me away but I would listen to another.

Worst I've Listened to

Some stories are that bad, they're good, this isn't one of them, rubbish from the start, I feel robbed, even though it was free.

Great listen

I really enjoyed listening to this. It was fun, brilliantly performed and I was interested in the ending. It wasn't a brilliant twist - definitely been done before - but I enjoyed the performance enough to keep listening and I'll probably listen again!

Not worth the time it takes

I enjoyed the beginning of this but it got repetitive in the middle and silly at the end. I would have given up half way through but as it's a mystery I wanted to find out the whodunit - I found the solution fairly implausible / too contrived. The performances and production are good, the writing clunky at times and the plot daft. Might have worked as a quick 90 min drama?
