It was a good book for listening to, because you got to hear the inflections in their voices.

James Patterson and Mike Lupica make a dynamite duo. You feel Lupica's presence in the many football references- his knowledge of the game is quite amazing. I've been a fan for decades. What you do not feel is Lupica's voice. Nor should you. Neither should the reader or listener as it would make for a disjointed, discombobulated experience.

I would have preferred to give 4.5 starts, but didn't have that option. My only quarrel with "House of Wolves" was the number of times I could complete a sentemce or scene beforehand, which broke the spell cast by Ellen Archer's terrific narration. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars. Well...except that, and the ending; which I will not reference other than to say I expected it, yet hoped for different.

This is the BEST BOOK James Patterson has written in many years!!! It definitely grabs your attention from the first sentence to the very last one. It was great to see the channels a female might face in the ruff & tumble world of professional football owners. I never listen/comment from a female perspective but felt it appropriate here. Would love to see more books with Mike Lupica & James Patterson.
