Folks, this is an audio play.

Dismiss all the negative reviews from people complaining they couldn't follow the narration.

Why? Because it's not narrated. This is an audio play, much like what people used to listen to on the radio a hundred years ago or so. Yes, there are many different voice actors, and yes you do have to pay attention to follow the plot. But it's worth it.

I enjoyed the hell out of this and want to find more audiobooks in this vein. It's one thing for a narrator to describe a scream, it's quite another to hear the actual terror and pain.

I really tried to like it

I finally gave up on finishing this book. The musical interludes were wayyyy to long for my taste. I also couldn’t get into it. After a couple of hours I decided I was done.

Outstanding audible production of the graphic novels. The cast did a superb job!!! If you read the comics you won't be disappointed. If you didn't read the comics you won't be lost. Thanks audible job well done

I have been 'iffy' about listening to cast productions. I really enjoyed this.

I could NOT stop listening. Despite having read the comic, it felt 'new'

I am a Joe Hill fan and have read the Locke & Key graphic book series. Hill and Rodriguez talked about the coming audio at a panel I attended and I preordered the book right then and there. I generally avoid cast productions, but gave this a shot. I thoroughly enjoyed this adaptation. The cast was brilliant. I would say the one negative was the music break in between books was a tad long. Other than that, this book was well worth my time and I expect I will listen to it a few more times...

Comic come to live

You can listen to this with or without the comic. The voices are nice to listen to, sometimes you have a problem with understanding who is who of the teenagers, but all in all great performances. Especially the actress of the mother, well done ma'am.

This book will have you jumping at shadows. Join a trio of siblings as they discover a new house that they have moved into.
The team behind this did an awesome job bringing a comic book series to life. It is a great build up to Halloween, read and enjoy but be prepared to be scared.

Dark stories told with different voices

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. The experience of the different voices helped keep the people separate as the dark story unfolds in unexpected ways.

This was most definitely an interesting listen. I enjoyed all the different voices as the story unfolds. There are many secrets in this house, and following the Locke family through many dangers and unusual situations kept me listening. Having the different actors helped keep the people straight. This set consists of several books though none truly end as the story focus just changes and characters resurface. There are a few moments when I felt that a visual was needed, but it did not take away from the story. Be prepared for the dark nature of this story.

I think the book itself is probably fine. It was just difficult to follow when listening to it. Reading it may have been better.
