Gigi Graham has exactly three goals: qualify for the women's national hockey team, win Olympic gold, and step out of her famous father's shadow. So far, so good, except for two little things. Fine—a little thing and a big, grumpy thing. She needs to improve her game behind the net, and she needs help from Luke Ryder.

Ryder is six-foot five, built, opinionated, rude . . . and sexy as hell. But he's still the enemy.

Briar's new hockey cocaptain has his reasons, though. The men's team just merged with a rival program, leaving Ryder with an angry roster where everyone hates one another's guts. To make matters worse, the summer coaching spot he's angling for with the legendary Garrett Graham is out of reach after he makes the worst possible first impression on his hero. So, really, this compromise with Gigi is win-win. He helps her make the national team, she puts in a good word with her dad.

The only potential snag? This bone-deep, body-numbing, mind-spinning chemistry they're trying to ignore. It's a dangerous game they're playing, but the risks just might be worth it.

Contains mature themes.

Welcome back to Briar U! We get to revisit some of the all time favorite characters (Garrett, Hannah, Dean, Logan) and meet the next generation. Garrett and Hannah's daughter Gigi is first up. She's a tenacious hockey player and a dynamic character. The H, Luke Ryder, has many layers and is also a complex person. As usual, Kennedy brings out many emotions with drama and comedy. Their relationship is refreshing. Some fun new characters. I look forward to more from this generation. Narrators were perfection

Love Elle Kennedy and loved this story! Some audio recording errors and a storyline continuity issue at one point, but other than that I was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend.

Loved it 🥰

I think this might be the best book Elle Kennedy has ever written. I’m obsessed with Garrett and Hannah as Parents. I’m in love with Gigi and Rider. I will forever be grateful that there is no miscommunication, no third act break up well not romantically. These characters are flawed but confident and lovable. There is enough nostalgia from the original 2 series but you can still start here and not be lost. It’s absolutely my book of 2024. I’ve read it 5 times already and I still swoon, smile and cry every single time. The narration is also really wonderful!

Very Entertaining

I loved getting Gigi & Ryder’s stories! It was such an unexpected romance from two people who present themselves differently, but who deep down, are similar. I’m glad we got the motivations behind the way each character acts as well as seeing them grow as people. BUT COME ON… hockey romance + University rivals + Tension + Banter + Garrett & Wellsy’s daughter… WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE!!
