Story
How would it feel to enter into prayer with confidence and assurance - certain that God heard you and that your prayers would make a difference? It would likely feel amazing and unfamiliar. That's because often our prayers seem to be met with silence or don't appear to change anything. Either response can lead to disappointment or even despair in the face of our ongoing battles and unmet longings - especially when we don't know if we're doing something wrong or if some prayers just don't work.

Story
Jamie Winship spent nearly thirty years living and working in conflict zones, and during that time he has learned an important truth: all human conflict originates from fear, and fear originates from a false view of God, ourselves, and others. Until we exchange what's false for what's real, we will never experience being fully alive, fully human, and fully free. Living Fearless is your invitation to listen closely to what God is trying to say to you about himself, about the person he created you to be—and also about all those other people he created and loves.

We let them into our bodies, and they sabotage our peace.

Many seek reassurance or perceived unity by creating doctrinal statements, but that misses the point. Doctrine is necessary, but it is not the solution. In his new book Until Unity, New York Times best-selling author Francis Chan tells listeners that the real problem is shallow or even nonexistent love for each other. Although the Bible commands unity, some will resist these unifying efforts. We see it every day. We have to hate sin, love truth, and pursue unity for the church.

"It seemed most wonderful how the Spirit revealed to these simple believers, who had only heard of the Bible for a few months, the things of Christ, His salvation, and the things of the future by visions of the unseen worlds." - H.A. Baker. Harold Armstrong Baker was the grandfather of Rolland Baker - husband of Heidi Baker of IRIS Ministries. He and his wife were missionaries to China during the 20th century. This book discusses different visions that should not only excite the believer, but encourage him to prepare for the coming of the Lord.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Jesus Christ of Nazareth was a man who healed all who came to him with power from the Holy Spirit. There was no challenge too great for him, and all who saw him knew he was sent from God. Yet, 2,000 years later, he is not with us anymore...or is he? F.F. Bosworth beautifully explains the healing power available to us today through the same one that healed all those years ago.

What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today to the businessman, the soldier, the laborer, or the aristocrat? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

Living with humans is messy. Our children make messes. Our spouses and friends make messes. So do our coworkers, bosses, pastors, and presidents...and so do we. Messes are scary, painful, and offensive. And whether we're dealing with the pain of a personal failure, the frustration of a disrespectful child, the devastation of a major betrayal, the stress of a workplace conflict, or the fallout of larger social injustices, classically we react the same way - with fear, shame, and punishment.

Publisher's Summary
This captivating account of the spiritually unexpected unfolding on a Welsh hillside will challenge and encourage you. In keeping with God's pattern of using marginal people from obscure places - fishermen, tax collectors, children, women and Galileans - this story sees God intrude into the mundane rhythms of life in a Christian retreat centre, run by a couple who would have been forgiven for opting for a quiet life when they arrive in this quiet Welsh hamlet. God's intrusion has not only sparked the growth of a House of Prayer but also touched many lives with healing, repentance and encouragement. The tangible presence of God has released visions of Jesus, angelic messengers and a steady stream of non-believers seeking to understand the encounter with God that they experience as they venture near this converted farmhouse. A fresh perspective on evangelism emerges from this inspiring insight into how God might work in your community.

challenging to get through but "challenging" also
Great ending and exceptionally challenging to commited Christians wanting to be stretched. I found it distraction though trying to assess the theology of Roy Godwin. As a Calvinist and cautious continuist I found myself heresy hunting at a number of points. I don't doubt Roy's love of Christ and his desire to proclaim him to all peoples.
But terms like "thin spaces", his overt affection for Celtic christianity and perception of the importance of physical space rather than the people occupying the area makes he highly suspicious that we are treading dangerously towards a paganisation of Christianity.
Over all I think he is essentially sound doctrinally but some of these terms used may put other off, ultimately it's worth working through. loved chapter 12, still thinking about it.
Thanks

I absolutely loved all the stories in this book. So deep and so meaningful. I found the narrator did not always pronounce words in the same way or as you might expect them to be pronounced, which took away something from the book. Deeply Exciting and Encouraging
I love stories that describe God Sovereignly at work. So often, they come from older books, recounting a of powerful historic ministries or revivals. Here is a book that describes, wonderful and spine-tingling encounters, how Jesus is still in the business of taking us by surprise, changing lives, blessing those who have never met Him before, and changing individuals, communities and nations. Please, do read it! Tears of joy coursed down my cheeks as I read of others encountering God in all His grace, power and holiness - and brought a fresh infilling of His Holy Spirit into my own life too.

Story
From the upper room of Pentecost to Azusa Street in Los Angeles, God has used prayer movements throughout history to change the world. More than 15 years ago, a group of students gathered for a prayer vigil in Chichester, England - and the prayers they started haven’t stopped. Out of that first meeting came 24-7 Prayer: an international movement of prayer, mission, and justice. Red Moon Rising is the story of how that movement continues today - and how each of us can be a part of the miracles God is doing through a new generation.
