Heal ThySelf

What did you love best about The Gerson Therapy?

I love fresh ideas that present the establishment with questions they are unwilling to address and try to understand. Max Gerson and today, Charlotte Gerson, have helped people heal themselves. I love how simple this method is and what patients have been healed. Great book that made do more research on Dr. Gerson and what he has done. No chemotherapy, no complex gene splicing, no fancy words, just real organic juices, some interesting approaches to detoxing the liver, why and how that works and what diseases this natural therapy has been successful at changing. I love the accounts from real people who have follow the therapy to the letter and had success and that it doesn't make the patients sicker! What chemotherapy can say that? It should be the standard first treatment for every patient - especially when the oath doctor all take is - FIRST DO NO HARM. Max and Charlotte are true pioneers and people who have made a difference in this world.

What other book might you compare The Gerson Therapy to and why?

This book and the pH Miracle have great common connections but still have different approaches both based with the foods we put into our bodies.

Have you listened to any of Tavia Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book really made me think about the Trillions of dollars being made on standard Cancer therapies. How many hospital have cancer treatment centers? If the Gerson Therapy is real and it works for patients, why are doctors not using it? This book made me research what is happening in Japan and other parts of the world. The book made me question the ethics of our Medical establishment. It has made me consider new ideas and to investigate and question what is real, honest, and truthful about my personal health. What I am discovering from reading this book has made me trust our government less, not believe everything our medical community has to offer, and today I see a strong and growing link between big business, lobbyist, and our government and the vast conflicts of interest and lies being propagated to the public about the safety of food and what is defined as food.

Any additional comments?

Everyone healthy or sick should read this book. It might change your mind about your choices, change your mind about your doctor, and change your mind about who you vote for in the next election.

The Real Deal

Where does The Gerson Therapy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is probably the best book I've ever read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Charlotte Gerson does a great job linking today to what Gerson was talking about decades ago.

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

Clear, concise delivery. Did especially well when narrating the stories of Gerson patients.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When I realized that I didn't have to depend on the fickle nature of modern medicine to overcome my condition, it was a very freeing experience. If you've been diagnosed with a debilitating illness, explore all your options. A word to the wise, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR CHEATING IN THIS THERAPY. It only works if you follow it like scripture.

Any additional comments?

After I listened to this book, I researched the subject in depth. I couldn't find anything in the book that wasn't true. In point of fact, the best thing I got from doctors, documentaries, books and all the other sources I picked over, was "we don't know why that happens". Gerson doesn't promise to cure everything but a 50% cure rate of patients already considered terminal by the doctors supposed to be saving them? It's worth it to those of us who can't afford or don't want to be dependent on drugs.

Great read if you are tryin to survive or thrive

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would, this book could literally save the life of someone you know. I think you have to recommend that. I doubt many of my 27 year old friends would take the time to listen to this book too because they havent felt the ill effects of sickness and disease that years of poor nutrition does to you. This is a very long book and it may take some extra motivation to finish it. I hope that motivation is a love for wanting to live healthy, and not a need for survival. I'm lucky enough to just be the former, a blogger that wants to live the healthiest life possible and share with others to make sure they can too!

What other book might you compare The Gerson Therapy to and why?

I've read a lot of diet books lately, from authors like Gary Taubes, Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson, Michael Pollan, and Loren Cordain. They are focused on what we call PALEO as of late, but its really just a focus on really feeding our body in the right way. I highly recommend these other authors if you are inspired to lead a long and healthy life.

Have you listened to any of Tavia Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not, but she read this book very well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, and I don't think that would be possible.

A new way to stop illness.

I wanted to get to the source of a lot of books and video I was reading and watching on juicing and health. I can say this book is like the grand master of help. I have the book and listened to the book. Refreshing what you hear and read is important.

Life saving information, poor choice of narrator.

Riveting case histories and life saving theories and applications. I found the narrator overly pedantic to the point where it detracted significantly from my ability to absorb the information. Will have to rely on the kindle book version.
