Publisher's summary

A secret too terrible to keep. And too dangerous to reveal.

In the depths of an ancient Egyptian tomb, archaeologists make a baffling discovery: the mummified body of a man clad in a space suit.

Halfway around the globe, exobiologist Dr. Katherine Shepard and intelligence officer Colonel Devon Peters are summoned to the site of a downed UFO. To their amazement, they find one of the occupants alive. Even more shocking, he appears to be human.

As Shepard and Peters delve deeper into the enigma, they expose a chilling truth: aliens have inhabited Earth far longer than anyone could have imagined, and they are not alone. An ancient, hidden war is being waged, with humanity’s survival hanging in the balance.

Thrust into a perilous world of shifting allegiances and veiled motives, Shepard and Peters must race against time to decipher the aliens’ true intentions and shield humanity from a revelation too shocking to comprehend.

The Fifth Kind is a gripping, high-octane hard science-fiction thriller that will leave you listening late into the night.

Poor Naration

I only finished this book because the story was interesting. Narrator was disappointing. I will not buy another book narrated by him.

started out ok however..

This reading started out fine but slowly disolved into schizophrenia...time for the tin hats and tinfoil the windows! Could not finish..and I bought the audio..big regret!

More of a teen book…

I wanted to like this book. Parts were decent, but overall everything was outweighed by shallow characters, weak plots, and odd interactions.

popcorn flick

I call this one a popcorn flick. You know those summer movies that are tons of fun as long as you don't think too much about them. And I do not mean that as an insult at all. There are just times when you want to check out of reality and enjoy some fun. Author James Prescott might have gone a bit heavy on throwing most sci-fi tropes in The Fifth Kind, but it's still a fun time. Fast paced action and a wild story. The book in narrated by the talented Gary Tiedemannn who does an outstanding job, as he always does.

A well done sci-fi mystery

This was a well written and read story that takes place on Earth not necessarily in the future. Well thought out and researched. An enjoyable read. I received this free review audiobook and I am voluntarily leaving this unbiased review.

Modest start to a new series

This review is being provided in exchange for a free copy from freeaudiobookcode.com

Candidly, this first offering in a new series is just so-so. There is nothing terrible about it, per se, but nothing extraordinary. At times, it veers into being somewhat simplistic, and at other times, it can be shrill. Gary Tiedemann's performance is workmanlike, although it can be a bit over the top, like the writing.

I am somewhat split on recommending this one. If you pick it up, do so with open eyes ( and ears! )

Tin Foil Jays

The book started out well and could have been a good book. Instead it turned in to a total tin foil hat book. We even finish with the writer telling is about the authenticity of the tin foil hat ideas. Take a pass.
