For eons, the truth about human evolution has remained hidden.
Until now....

Extinction Code

Geophysicist Jack Greer believes he may finally have found the resting place of the meteorite that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. A few miles off the Yucatán coast, Jack and a team of scientists tow an aging drilling platform over the impact crater with the aim of securing a sample. But buried deep beneath the earth lies a shocking discovery that threatens to shatter everything we think we know about our species.

A world away, geneticist Dr. Mia Ward receives a mysterious delivery from her former boss and mentor, Alan Salzburg. In it are clues of a dire warning hidden inside the human genome, one which foretells man's very extinction.

His instructions to Mia are simple: Keep the information safe and, above all, trust no one - words all the more chilling after Alan turns up dead. But who wrote the message and what does it mean? Only Jack Greer holds the answers, but can she reach him in time to save the human race?

Extinction Countdown

Dr. Jack Greer's startling discovery beneath the Gulf of Mexico proved to the world we were not alone in the universe. But when images from the Voyager One space probe reveal an alien doomsday ship hurtling toward the earth, the human race seems marked for extinction.

As news of the approaching ship spreads panic around the globe, signs of a sinister plot begin to emerge - one that threatens to unravel the already fragile fabric of society and everything Jack and Dr. Mia Ward have fought for.

But could a mysterious signal emanating from inside Greenland's ice sheet unlock the secrets hidden within our genome and prevent humanity's destruction?

From the frozen fields of Greenland to the bustling Indian subcontinent and the cobbled streets of Rome, the race is on to stop the deadliest countdown to extinction the human race has ever known.

Extinction Crisis

With the doomsday ship only days away from impacting the Earth, humanity's demise seems all but assured. In every corner of the world, news of the impending destruction has led to chaos, looting, and the collapse of the rule of law.

As the foundations of civilization crumble around them, Jack and Mia must race to find answers to perhaps the most important questions of all time. Why have the Ateans repeatedly eradicated life on our planet? And could the key to ending the cycle of extinctions be locked somewhere within the Salzburg Chromosome?

Unraveling the mystery will mean journeying deep into the heart of a perilous alien world and facing off against the very beings who created us.

Extinction level events have occurred on Earth before. An incredible discovery while exploring the cause of the last one may very well signal the start of the next one. The Extinction series is an action packed, conspiracy loaded, sci-fi rollercoaster ride to the brink of destruction. While the idea of "life here began out there" is not new-I can still remember those very words from the opening of original Battlestar Gallactica-it is a fun idea to explore, and I really enjoyed James Prescott's take on the idea. I liked the story-especially the conspiracy aspects, I liked the characters, and while I thought it was a bit heavy on the science (the story would slow a bit while he tried to have his characters explain it all, the core story was a lot of fun) it was still a heck of a ride. The story would make a fun TV show. While I noticed other reviews bashing the narration, for the most part I don't agree at all. I really enjoyed Gary Tiedemann's performance. The only complaint I would agree with is his spelling out of ASCII rather than reading it as "ask-ee", but I am not sure that's something everyone would know anyway.

I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Is this the end of the world as we know it?

story would have four stars had the author googled a few more correct firearms terms. nixed the social justice elements shoehorned into the storyline, and didn't insert words to attempt to sound more intellectual than the story required. unfortunately, this audiobook amounts to a very forgettable 24 hours of my life.

social justice ruins everything

Enjoyed this box set a lot.
I bought this for the deal enjoyed it for the yarn, much more than many audiobooks purchased alone.
Enough hard science to really bring the story alive, but not so much that it bogs down. I loved the characters.

Excellent Series

other than it drags on about some of the "chromatids" and such, that science is beyond your average listener....its a fantastic series! 95% of the time I was completely engaged and it will leave me thinking for some time. Much recommended.

great series

The work could have been a terrific galactic tale. Interesting plot, character development and dynamic tension… however, (and it’s a major however) it is filled with not-so-hidden agendas, social op-eds and pedantry of the very worst forms. Losing the plot in endless repetitive genetics classes and basic astrophysics nearly made my lose interest myriad times, the sole motivation to continue being the ability to write this review. Oh, and to if Jack and Anna were a thing. Hmmm

Could have been awesome…

Amazing and entertaining plot with a perfect delivery by the author and narrator. There were characters I hated, cheered for, and was just absolutely fascinated with. As soon as I hit send on this review I'm looking up more titles from this author. GREAT JOB. Would make an awesome series or movie trilogy!

This series is soooooo good.

i liked the science of it, including the discussion at the end. The narrator was great especially with the number of characters.

This was a very enjoyable series

For me, this was a great overall story. I am glad I chose the complete series with a single credit vs. the individual books because they were all very short in the individual books. The endings were weird cliffhangers, and they picked up exactly where the previous one left off. So it's almost like the author, James Prescott, took the whole series and just cut three random places and made it three books.

My only issue with the book itself is the ending. I would have liked to see a little failure in the plan. But the plan the characters make just magically works, and the villains do nothing about anything in the big picture. I would have liked to see the actual ship hit and how the world adapts. Or see the ship get hit with nukes and that causes the characters to have to persuade the Aliens to forgive the few that act in their own interest and not the masses. I would have also liked to see the upgraded version of the AI character do more after they stop the doomsday. Just so we see what she is capable of.

I would buy future continuations of this series if it follows the AI and if it takes us to other parts of the galaxy. Very intriguing concept.

Personally Thought it was great. Spoilers.

Over the span of three books, watching a character move from soft to hardcore in different.
