Story
In a steel-and-lead-encased bunker 20 feet below the basement level of his house, a soldier waits for his final orders. On the surface, a plague ravages the planet, infecting over 90% of the populace. The bacterium burrows through the brain, destroying all signs of humanity and leaving behind little more than base, prehistoric instincts. The infected turn into hyper-aggressive predators, with an insatiable desire to kill and feed. Someday soon, the soldier will have to open the hatch to his bunker, and step out into this new wasteland, to complete his mission....

Publisher's Summary
The number one best-selling trilogy is now available as a single audiobook! This audiobook contains 100 Days in Deadland, Deadland's Harvest, and Deadland Rising.
100 Days in Deadland: The world ended on a Thursday. In one day, the world succumbed to a pestilence that decimated the living. In its place rose a new species: vicious, gruesome, wandering zombies with an insatiable hunger for the living.
Deadland's Harvest: It has been 100 days since the zombies claimed the world. Cash, along with 42 survivors, have found safety in the secluded and well-guarded Fox National Park. The leaves are changing colors, a beautiful, brutal reminder that winter is coming. As the survivors prepare for freezing months without electricity and not enough food, they learn of massive zombie herds several hundred miles north...and headed their way.
Deadland Rising: It has been nearly one year since the zombie hordes claimed the world. As the plague eats away at its victims' bodies, the Fox survivors search for a safe place to rebuild what they have lost. But a dangerous new threat has risen, hunting them from every direction.

Never Judge a book by its cover :-)
I had this book series in my wish list for awhile. I kept bypassing it mostly because of its cover (I know the old adage)… but anyway,
I finally downloaded the 3 part saga, and was very glad I did. I am sorry passed it up as often as I did for some other drivel.
I thoroughly enjoyed all three books and the 27+ hours of listening was certainly worth the credit.
I have logged 100's of zombie apocalypse hours and I have to rank this series up at top.
Well written and well narrated - and kept my interest throughout.

Good book with zombies, bad guys and good guys
I like that this book is written from a woman's point of view. The female lead was an office drone before the zombie event. She just sat at a desk and was happy with that. When she was faced with a life or death situation in the ladies rest room, she fought for her life, killed the zombie and then escaped the building. She ended up pairing with a truck driver/farmer/former Army Ranger named Clutch. He nicknamed her Cash. Cash had to quickly learn fighting and survival skills. The story is about their adventures and misadventures in the dangerous world of zombies and criminal humans.
There are a host of supporting characters, exciting action scenes, and love events, I enjoyed the book. It is a very good sound zombie book but not as outstanding as some. It is particularly good that all three books in the series are included in this one credit. That is a great bonus. I do recommend that you give it a listen. One negative comment, at first the narrator's voice sounds as if she is bored with her reading assignment. That put me off when it happened. Most of the time, however, she did a good job and handled male voices as well as female voices.

Good if you’re a young adult. Bland otherwise
Ok. So if I was 13-16 I’d like it. Love it even. However. I’m not. I’m 20 and have read many books. This book is so predictable if you’re a seasoned reader of apocalyptic books and at times painfully corny. Example “his broad shoulders and inner strength reminded me of a strong oak. He’s my oak” (roughly worded). The pain love interest Cluch (spoilers) has his whole body trampled, spin injury and even head but of COURSE she can’t let him go. She believes in him. He somehow recovers. Each book gets progressively better and then plummets back down to stupid. If you want a good zombie series, go read The Remaining. Would not recommend if you’re over 16. Under? Go for it. A good read.

Predictable to a fault
I just couldn't get into this one. I love the genre and I've enjoyed most books on the subject but this one felt so blah. It was painfully predictable and provided too much detail in unnecessary places but too little when it was actually warranted. I'm really surprised by the reviews that rate it high. I don't know what the heck they found so enjoyable.

AWESOME!
Holy crap was this a good series. I was hooked right from the start. I thought the latter part of book 3 Deadland Rising, was a bit much, but the ending was sweet! I actually teared up at some of the deaths that occurred in the series. Some hit really hard. While there were very sad parts, the banter bewteen some of the characters was really funny. The plot was very well thought out and believable and the characters were well written and developed throughout the series. All-in-all, an excellent series.

a fantastic trilogy
great trilogy with realistic feel and conveyance of the dire struggle that mankind must endure. Cash was a great female lead character for the trilogy and brought the regular non military experience to the situation. glad the novels didn't just ramble on with no end in sight and instead had a finite term with closure.

Worst narrator ever; story is okay
The narrator DESTROYED this story. I’m very confused how I listened to every hour of it last year. I tried again a couple days ago and I couldn’t get past chapter 25. She has absolutely no personality and never alters her voice for the characters. How is that even gotten away with? Who DOES that? I’m still boggled, really.
As for the story, if you’re an experienced reader like me and have read Sarah Lyons Fleming, Camille Picott, Dan Wells, etc, you may have a hard time getting through the first book here. It’s worth trudging to the second book though—just read it instead. The entire story is okay; interesting, maybe a little predictable in some areas, a few major eye-rolling incidents, but not nearly as bad as Kyla Stone’s work. Dialogue in the first book needs some work and Cash is an idiot sometimes. It eventually improves.

Really good story.
I liked that I could buy this series with one credit not sure if I ever would have bought them individually with each book only being approx 5-6 hours long.
But really enjoyed this story and found it had a good balance of action and down time giving a chance for character development. The narrators almost nonchalant breezily way of speaking took a while to get used to but her ability to tell the story and keep you engaged was good.
