Exceptional

Very enjoyable. I love the Word of God. Exceptional speaker quality and voice tone. I really enjoy the perfect English. Only thing I’d add are sound effects that transport the listener into the Bible experience.

I really like the way this is read, I follow along in my bible to help with pronunciation.

Challenging format

Max McLean is by far my favorite Bible narrator.
I have listened to four or give different narrators;some I cannot bear for even 1 full chapter. McLean is so easy on the ears; I enjoy anything he narrates. That said, It would definitely be a huge improvement if each “Part” listed Book and Chapter so you could easily find a particular reference or Book, chapter and verse.

A much needed app.

Recently I 've been having eye sight complications which has resulted in my reading close up abilities severely diminished. This app is exactly what I've needed to compensate for that issue.

Beware of Audible

Amazon is great but Audible which is a division of Amazon , and not even near Amazon is a rip-off and sucks .
I purchased a book for my wife and then sent it as a gift . Not only did they want her E-mail address but also her credit card number . One heck of a gift, wasn't it ? After calling , I was told a refund would be issued . Yet a few minutes later a Email said no refund since the credit card was in my wife's name , HUH ????
I was then compelled to dispute the charge with my card company , since this division , unlike Amazon , is way beyond stupid !!

The WORD.

I can add nothing to strengthen the worth of God’s word. All is strengthened in Him alone. Glory be to Him. Grace be to all. That being said, this is an epic reading from Max McLean. I listen to this everyday. Sometimes I think it would help if the chapters and verses were labeled for reference sake but then I just stop complaining and keep listening.

Very good reading of KJV

I really like this reading of the KJV. Max McLean did a very nice job, but I took off one star because the reading is a little fast. That makes it less useful for devotions. But this speed may be appropriate for people who just want to listen casually.

Great profomance, but ....

t was disappointed that the chapters were simply numbered and not listed as book and chapter. Poor labeling makes a great recording unusable.

I think McLean narrates the Bible wonderfully, better than Scourby in my opinion. BUT, it is very difficult to find a specific book to listen to because of the layout. It's one thing not to have a subtitle that says "1 John", but it's another to not even see which part of the recording you're on (ex. "Part 5 of 10"). If that could be corrected, this audiobook would be the best you can find for listening to scripture.

It won’t play.

EDIT: My original review is below. Before my problem resolved, I removed and redownloaded this book six times. I can’t say for sure what fixed it. The only thing I can guess that may have made the difference is, on the last time I redownloaded this book, I did absolutely nothing with my iPhone until it completed. The previous times, I would momentarily switch to another app or start listening before the download was done. This time, I waited for the download to complete before switching apps or listening to a book or anything. I believe I even made sure my screen stayed on for the whole download. This kind of thing isn’t normally an issue, but this download takes longer than most others.

ORIGINAL: I’d love it if it would play consistently. It will play for a time. I’ll take a break and return to listen to it, and it will say it’s trying to sync. It will never sync. Eventually, it will say, “We’re sorry, but there was a problem. Please try again. If this problem persists, please call or email customer support.” I’ve gotten “help” from Audible support three times (once by chat, twice by phone, email isn’t an option I’ve been able to find). I’ve removed it and redownloaded it five times. That fixes it only temporarily. I’ve completely removed and reinstalled Audible on my iPhone. The last time I redownloaded it, I turned off the setting that syncs my listening position. The problem still happened, except it just went straight to the message I quoted above about a problem occurring. Nothing has worked. The last support person suggested I just listen to it through Safari. That works, but I want to listen to the downloaded book through the app. That’s not an acceptable solution; and frankly, it seems like lazy support. My other books work fine. I also tried offloading the Audible app (uninstalls the app while keeping its data), and that didn’t work.
