The New York Times best-selling author of God Don't Like Ugly and God Don't Play, Mary Monroe has built a reputation for sassy, hard-hitting contemporary fiction.

The Company We Keep follows successful record executive Teri Stewart as she scours L.A. for love. Just when she's ready to give up on men altogether, into her life strolls charming DJ Harrison Starr. He's got it going on - obviously - but he's also hiding a dark secret that could destroy their budding romance.

Critic Reviews

"Swift, salty writing and steamy sex scenes will keep [audiences] cheering for the couple, and a twisting plot will keep them turning pages." ( Publishers Weekly)

Wasn't her best

I almost didn't finish this one, but I was already a few hours in and wanted to know how it ended. This was a slow and anti climactic read. The description was slightly misleading and more interesting than the story itself. Not terrible, but a disappointment coming from this author. I gave it 3 stars because the characters are likable and the narrator did a great job as always.

loved it<br />

They a great story overall. The main character made me mad a lot. Especially because she was a smart woman when it came to work not life. My other issue and the reason I gave it 4 stars was because there is no follow up. Sad this would have been a great series.

The ending...

It took me half the book to figure out what was really going on and then the abrupt ended just killed it for me.
