The Brittons are the owners of Amistad Bank, the nation’s largest minority-owned bank. They consider themselves the “First Family” of the Black Hamptons and have owned their estate home for three generations. Their matriarch, Carolyn Britton, and her two sons, Malcolm and Martin, are not to be played with. They truly embody the Black Hamptons’ old guard and will do whatever they feel is necessary to maintain their place at the top.

The Johnsons are relatively new to the Black Hamptons, having summered there only five years. Sometimes they still feel like outsiders, but that might be because Anthony Johnson is viewed as competition by the Brittons. He’s the handsome CEO of Sydney Tech, a company he built from the ground up. Many people consider him the most powerful man in the Black Hamptons, but don’t say that around the Britton boys.

The book was enjoyable, but the ending was abrupt. Ten hours and I don't know how anything ended.

Carl Weber with La Jill Hunt is the two best writers ever! Awesome book with excellent storylines I could not stop listening! All the narrators Chante Ellison, Michael Rishawn, Dylan Ford, Ace Bentley, and Ebony Mendez gave a great performance they brought all the characters to life! Bravo 👏

Book after watching the mini-series

Normally it’s read the book before watching the movie. After watching the mini-series, the story needed more. The book did not disappoint at all. Slight variations in both does not cancel out the other. So great! I could only hear the characters of the mini-series while listening! The ending was sweet revenge against the bitter power driven matriarch. There feels like a part two could happen with the book. Enjoyable listen.

Waiting on part II

This was a great read and I am only disappointed in that there is no book II to read. I did not expect some of the twists and turns that came, including the ending! Please give us a series, or at least The Black Hamptons II.

It was a good listen!!

The story line was good. Only problem I had was depending on the narrator. Some of the characters voices would change. And I would have to remind my self who was talking!! That wasn't cool!

Great story but felt unfinished

This was a great book it just ended too soon in my opinion. It leaves me looking for a part two.

Took me a minute to catch on to the characters but once I did I really enjoyed. Scandal, drama, fun and BLACK WEALTH!! Wort the credit and I’m waiting on part 2!

Black Hampton - More Than Just A Bourgeois Story

I was a little reluctant about choosing this title as I am not a big Carl Weber fan but saw that there's a mini series currently out with the same title so decided to give it a chance. And I am so glad I did.

The story was good - good character development, different story lines to invest in to keep you interested, & the end, nicely done. Just enough to leave a girl wanting more.

Loved, loved, loved, the different narrators for each characters. Kept you intrigued as you weren't listening to same old voice from chapter to chapter.

Overall, good listen. Had a girl ready to pack her bags & book her her Sag Harbor trip 🤪.
