Too many twists

as soon as you think you know where the story is going, there is another twist which turns the story upside down. Brilliant.

The story is fscinating and engaging. And the narrator breathes life to it! Well done!

Absolutely awesome

The Broken Eye is absolutely awesome. Andross' manipulations start coming to fruition, the white is combating those manipulations, Gavin Guile is held prisoner and believed dead by many, Teia has become a spy, and Kip is making deals with his grandfather. Simon Vance does a great job with the narration making The Broken Eye by Brent Weeks more awesome, if that is even possible.

overwhelmed

I have just smashed through this book in no time at all, if I would have know just how good they were before reading I wouldn't have waited to read them.

these books have a big expansive world, many entangling stories and some twists that I never seen coming or even expected.

I like to think that I have read alot of fantasy books but had sadly never heard of Brent weeks, he will be a name that I look for in the future and I think in the next few days I will have finished book 4 of this series and be wait in number 5.

I really never expected to love these books this much

Creatively strong, but poorly edited in places.

What made the experience of listening to The Broken Eye the most enjoyable?

You can't help but like the universe, Brent Weeks is padding out in this volume.

Good characters and an interesting approach to fantasy fiction, with the only real weakness being instances of poorly edited repetition and the odd overly self indulgent, hammy internal monologue.

What other book might you compare The Broken Eye to, and why?

Sitting in the same tier as Raymond Feist (though he is arguably more imaginative), Weeks produces highly enjoyable romps that you don't have to think too much about.

Which character – as performed by Simon Vance – was your favourite?

Andross Guile is a great character for Simon Vance's vocal range. As a narrator, he often plays people with a voice too mature for their associated age group, but given that Andross is a ruthless octogenarian, Vance nails it with aplomb.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Pass.

Not as good as the Night Angel Trilogy, but inventive and worth a look.

Amazing

To be hit with amazement and thrill over and over again. That's what listening to this book felt like. A must read/listen for every fantasy fan.

This book is an absolute must. The character development is far beyond that of any series I have read.

I was so sorry it finished now onto the next book

I listen to at lest 4 books a month and finding a story that will keep me gripped and looking forward to hear what happens next is this genre of book for me . A brilliant story line , wonderfully read so well done . I get so anxious towards the end of the books as I feel like I know these people and don’t want it to end . If I was a film producer this would be my next project I would have it sent to the script writers and have it made into a block buster movie . Please x

Weakest in the Series

Having thoroughly enjoyed the previous two instalments in the lightbringer series, I was a little disappointed by this latest novel.
The greatest protagonist, is sidelined in this novel, in favour of less engaging characters, and I found myself hanging on, chapter after chapter, in the hopes of continuing Gavin's storyline.
I enjoyed the narrator on other works (such as Dune), but found his accents a little one dimensional with little variety.
I've still given the book three stars as I've really enjoyed the series and find the whole concept interesting and refreshing, but expected better things.
That being said I'll still be reading the next one!

I didn't see that ending coming. this series of books never seems to amaze me. Brent weeks it's a true genius. 5 stars all the way.
