Ally Carter wins again!

I’m a fan of all things Ally Carter! I devoured this book in a little over 24 hours. The twists & turns of the plot kept me guessing as to who would end up being the “bad guy”. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Love Ally Carter

Ally Cater crafts an entertaining story with solid characters. Have read all her books. Hoping for more.

Great sequel (and best if read as sequel) but can be enjoyed as stand alone. Definitely recommend.

Clever plot, very likable characters. I enjoyed everything about the plot and characters and story…except…the narration was just OK and not great ! I couldn’t hear/understand a lot of the dialog of King’s character when voiced by Alex’s female voice narrator and it drove me crazy. There was so much clever dialog that I missed. I just could not hear most of what she/he said no matter how loud I turned up the volume.

Best enemies to lovers I’ve read

This one took a few chapters to get into, but then I was committed. The enemies to lovers is very well done, and I love that she included Zoe and Sawyer in this story.

Ally Carter is my new fav author!! The only thing I'm upset about is that I hit 'the end'. Story is like a puzzle, winding around, back and forth, until... voila...

Couldn't put it down, but perhaps a little heavier on the family drama that her other books.

Just finished this one. I liked the story, lots of twists, turns and feels. Ally Carter is a favorite and I've been waiting for this one to come out.

But for the first time there was a character whose tragedy is still killing me, even after the book is done. It's not a main character, so don't be dissuaded from reading thinking there's going to be this awful ending - that's not the case. Also, I got lost a few times with the jumping back and forth in time. But it was a well built story with a wide variety of characters and backstories that make the world of the book come alive.

Would recommend! And will probably read again.

I loved it!!! Excellent storage plot. Love the romance. And absolutely adore the espionage. Overall loved it!

Perfect Escapism

This is a really fun book. I enjoyed the backstory. It was very amusing and made me laugh a lot.

Great story, performers were disappointing

I thought this story was great! The intrigue, European destinations, clandestine operations and cold war espionage was exciting! I was riveted to it. But, I should have read the book. The way the performers of this audio book read their parts took me out of the story, often. Their voices are pleasant, but the way they affected them for the characters was distracting. While speaking the male character parts, the female performer sounded as though she were talking though clenched teeth and out the side of her mouth at the same time. The male performer read his chapters as though he were Rod Serling from The Twilight Zone. Both were very distracting, and I'm very disappointed. No shade to the performers personally, but surely someone should have caught this before this audio recording was released. Regardless, I listened to the entire book doing my best to stay engaged. I highly recommend this story- and this author- just not this reading.
