Publisher's Summary

Since she can remember, Katarina's relatives have been grooming her for the family business - thieving. But when Kat tries to go straight and leave the "Life" for a normal life, she's promptly kicked out of her new school for stealing the headmaster's car and mounting it on the school fountain. Although she could have done it without breaking a sweat, ironically, this time, she's innocent.

In fact, she was framed - by another highly skilled thief. Her friend and brother-in-trade Hale, with his mischievous smile and limitless bank account, has appeared out of nowhere to bring her back to the Life, back to the family Kat tried so hard to escape.

Hale has a good reason: A powerful mobster has just been robbed of his priceless art collection, and he wants to retrieve it. Only a master thief could have cracked this vault, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he IS the list.

Now, caught between Interpol and a far more deadly predator, Kat's dad needs her help. For Kat, a consummate thief in her own right, the solution is simple: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and maybe just enough misguided pride to pull off the biggest heist in history - or at least in her family's (very crooked) history.

Fun listen!!!

Needing a break from "serious" books, I chose The Heist.

What a fun listen!!! Angela Dawe seamlessly changes her voice for each character regardless of gender and age. Each character is recognizable, even Halle and Nick.

The story is fun, interesting and believable. The length is perfect.

Saving to my re-listen list for my next needed break!

A Pleasant Surprise

This was deeper than I expected it to be. It's definitely YA but it still has a good message about war crimes. I'm looking forward to reading another one.

Masterful narrator; regrettable story

This is an unlikely story with cliche characters, cheesy fictional elements, an unrealistic plot, and a predictable ending. But what more can we expect from YA literature? I only finished the story so I could spend more time with the narrator, whose grasp of voices and accents was masterful.

Good book, between books

I enjoyed other books by Ally Carter. This one didn't have as much mystery or fun to it. The performance was decent, but sometimes I had a hard time focusing on the narrator's soft voice. It was a decent listen, but I wasn't "wowed".

Awesome audiobook

I really missed Ally Carter’s writing and this book did not disappoint. Every single chapter kept me hooked and satisfied.
I really enjoyed the narration and how I could tell who was speaking just from the narrator’s voice and accent.

HEIST SOCIETY IS AMAZING!

** NO SPOILERS ABOUT THIS BOOK IN THIS REVIEW :)**
About this book: Katerina Bishop, referred to as Kat, has grown up in a family of thieves, but she has conned her way into a normal bording school to steal a normal life. After she gets framed and kicked out of her bording school, Kat is driven away by W.W Hale the 5th to hear a message. Kat learns her dad is in trouble, an evil man believes Kat's father stole his paintings. Kat has to form a team of colorful characters to steal the paintings back, and they are in for a lot of surprises.

My review: I think this book is awesome! Kat and her team have to crack codes, sneak into one of the most secure museums in Britain. This book is the perfect combination of suspense, thieving, cracking codes, and friendship!

NARRATION QUALITY: The person who narrated this was pretty good, I really like it. Sometimes the narration is a little quiet. But that's ik.for.me.

BLUSH FACTOR: Not much, which I like.

WRITING: Amazing!

RECCOMENDATION: Anyone can read/listen to this book, but I recommend this to kids, teens, and older. (8+).

Thanks for reading my review!

This novel is a very interesting look at a world of thieves, rather than the exploits of their captors.
Thanks for beginning a series of such fun.
