The first two bosses have been defeated, and Player has bought himself some time. Though, between spending time with his new lovers, figuring out how to make an airship function by exploiting the world's mechanics, and exploring caves with his pet mimic to find more resources to craft better gear with, he has plenty to do and little time to do it before more bosses appear. Then there is still the truth of the world itself and the enigmatic entities seemingly behind it that he has to uncover. On top of that, as he spends more time in this new world, he must face even more challenges that didn't exist in the original game...some of which will push him harder than everything before them.

Note from the author: The Ascension Game is a lightweight LitRPG that focuses more on build variety and horizontal progression rather than strictly numbers going up, though options are limited at first. The system draws inspiration for its mechanics from a variety of RPGs and sim games.

Super cool

I really like this series, the approach on the structure of the game world is so unique. Way more game like than normal. It’s seems like a small thing but it is such a cool way to give the mc an edge

Great Series Continuation

This book was a great second book for this series. It had just the right amount of progression, action, intrigue and humor. This really is a fun series I think most fans of the genre would enjoy.

Giancarlo Herrera and Hannah Schooner continue to give a great narration performance throughout this book.

Good sequel

Very good sequel to the first book and a pleasure to listen to.

We get a bit more information about the world and the events that led to our current story as well as some relationship advancement. Ninja is just too adorable.

The voice acting is still doing its job wonderfully, helping the story immersion, both narrators did great.

Only small complaint would be the scarcity of the steamier scenes, but it does not detract from the value of the story.

A continuation of a fun story

I received a free copy of this book in order to give my honest opinion. Trying to limit spoilers. The MC finally meets a more difficult challenge, but as veteran player of crafting games he finds more crazy solutions that would make any insane Minecraft player beam with pride.

Keep them coming, I'm looking forward to the the next book.

Book 2

Great follow up to the first! Enjoyed hearing the game mechanics and how the new npc girlfriend behaves. Both narrators do a great job.

this is a fantastic continuation of the series. the fact that the MC has to earn his women and his spicy rewards gives this series a new level of interest. the action is well written as are the characters. this series is well on its way to becoming one of my true favorites.

This series is so fun! I love the connection to the game and also how much the world has developed. I am very excited to see where this adventure goes!

This is a GREAT story!

This book is light and fun. It is also quite disgusting! The fights always have an ick factor that appeals to my inner 6th grader and are quite ewwtastic. The mimic should have the worst bad breath due to what goes in its mouth. The Samurai girl really shows her stuff in this episode, and I can't wait for the next book.
I received a free code for this audiobook in exchange for an early and honest review. There's nothing more honest than 6th grade humor!

Another amazing run in this Minecraft/ final fantasy style world still loving the characters and the world building that has begun to become more prevalent can’t wait for book 2!!

Awesome Sequel

When it comes to a sequel, I am personally looking for everything that made the last book worth it and then some. In my opinion that is this book. For anyone not in the know it appears that the author is relatively new though that doesn't mean that they have not been writing for quite some time. The writing was solid in my opinion, and I am interested in what comes next. The author has another series available on Amazon in eBook form with eight volumes called “Lazy Dragon Queen.” It sounds like from the author’s Amazon bio that he intends to write several genres under the same pen name. If you get to the end of this volume, then it looks like volume three comes out August 7th of 2023. These are all things that when I get to the end of a book, I'm interested in knowing and I figured it would be easy enough to share what I found here in one place for anybody reading this review. The narration team did a pretty good job. If memory serves, their first memorable performance for me was a book called “Blightmage.” Anyways, I was entertained and recommend the book to anybody reading this review. Lastly, I'll just say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the Audible listeners.
