Of course, my mom, the evil matriarch in the devil’s leggings, made her final stab at finding a girl for me days before I went back to college. And I hate to admit it, but she saved a doozy for last. A titan in black skinny jeans. A boss of nonchalance. And a girl who would not only turn my life upside down, but do it while juggling a soccer ball, looking effortlessly gorgeous around campus, and is 100 percent against relationships. Of any sort. Thanks, Mom.

One of my favorites in the series

Indie and Lincoln. Wow what a story. A friends to lovers trope with a few twists and some major highs and lows. Fair warning that there are years of distance but still a HEA. Also the narrators are awesome.

So cute, one of the better Brentwood books! Just ignore the cover art

Maybe it’s just me, but do yourself a favor and ignore the cover art and just use your imagination for a better Lincoln (or search Pinterest). Makes for a better story imo
This is one of my favorites in the Brentwood series! I was glad to get away from huge misunderstandings but sad we still had yet ANOTHER time gap… glad we still get an HEA though.

Spice? Yes.
Romance? Yes.
Some comedy? Also yes, loved the two moms. 🩷
Good narration as well! Connor Crais has a dreamy voice

5/5 on the narration and story line!! It’s been too long when a book was this good and gave my all the good butterfly’s & laughs!!

Lincoln is my FAVORITE!

All of Meghan Quinn's other baseball guys can step aside, Lincoln is my FAVORITE! He's a gorgeous athlete who is sensitive, thoughtful, smart and loyal. What an amazing friends to lovers tale she created for us! It was so refreshing for the female lead to be a college athlete too. I really enjoyed getting to experience Indie's soccer season and her teammate and roommate Scarlett is such a HOOT. I didn't want The Setup to end- it was filled with Quinn's trademark humor and chemistry. So fun! The performances by Kelsey Navarro and Connor Crais were fantastic- they were perfectly cast and so enjoyable to listen to.

This book breaks your heart as you go on the journey with Indie & Lincoln. It is wonderful!!!!!

Oh my god this book was soooo good it had me laughing so hard and hot and bothered as well. This was so good

So many tears

I haven’t cried this much during a book in a long time. The ending was a bit blunt after all the drama and year’s of misunderstandings.

Connor Crais!!!! Wow, he gave a performance - made me tear up a bit. Really enjoyed this story. Towards the ending chapters, he did most of the narration...I forgot that Kelsey was the female narrator, so when she chimed in again, I was disappointed 😞. And she wasn't even a bad narrator, I had just gotten used to Connor narrating for all characters. Storyline was intriguing, funny, sad, sexy. Meghan did a fantastic job writing. I can't remember being disappointed with one of her books yet, still have several more waiting in my library to listen to. Well done!

Never a better Setup

Over the last 18 months I've listened to over 200 audiobooks and this book was the THE BEST ONE. Meghan Quinn is special! She writes real people and real emotions. Romance books are often contrived and fanciful, but her books are situations men and women have and are experiencing. Misunderstanding and maturing into the person you want to be is a process, and Quinn writes that so well. The Setup is simply personal. Not because I have gone through this exact friends to friends with benefits back to friends to estranged back to friends and finally a couple, but because I have experienced some form of this with different men at different times. You will see your many relationships wether you are a man or a woman or if you love a man or a woman. Love, loss and unconditional love are what we all experience in this life, and Quinn pens the Setup with the dialogue of regular people. What makes it so special is that Lincoln Castle and Indie Mayhem are all of us, and the 12 hours are a treat you NEED to and MUST hear. It's worth more than money and a credit, it a must listen and get lost.
