USA Today best-selling author Meghan Quinn’s latest bauble is the charming story of a crafting queen battling a jaded divorce lawyer on a wedding reality show.

Luna Rossi is a veritable crafting genius — she can bedazzle and bead so hard her Etsy site is one of the hottest in the world. So it’s only natural that Luna would convince her brother and his husband-to-be to compete on The Wedding Game, a “do-it-yourself” TV show, for the title of Top DIY Wedding Expert.

As a jaded divorce lawyer, Alec Baxter scoffs at weddings and romance. But when his recently engaged brother begs him to participate in The Wedding Game, Alec grudgingly picks up a glue gun and prepares for some family bonding.

Both fierce competitors, Luna and Alec clash on national TV as harsh words and glitter fly with abandon. But as they bicker over color swatches and mood boards, they find themselves fighting something else: their growing mutual attraction. While Luna is torn between family loyalty and her own feelings, Alec wonders if he might have been wrong about love and marriage all along....

I read some of the reviews and I have to agree- there is some crude language. There's cursing which I think is rarely necessary (and I don't curse in reality). There are some steamy times. And these, in my opinion, are not reasons to not give this book a try because this book is HILARIOUS. (fair notice, I love my romance novels, mostly rom-coms). My kids had to ask me why I was laughing so much, as I would erupt into giggles during a few particularly funny scenes. This is definitely one of my favorite First Reads books.

In this book, Luna is a DIY master. She signs her brother and his boyfriend up for the Wedding Game reality show in order to hopefully help them win an apartment of their dreams in NYC. They are matched against 2 other teams, including Alec's team. Alec is a divorce attorney who doesn't believe in love. His brother, Thad, is the ultimate groomzilla and the interactions throughout, between teams and in each team are priceless. The third team is made up of three women, including one of the couple's mother, Helen, who is a horrid person but she adds a lot of humor and is someone we can all root against.

This was an enemies to lover romance but so well done because the relationship evolves naturally. I adored how they worked together to try to get both their siblings the wedding of their dreams. They each have their flaws and they had to confront those flaws but this provided the right amount of angst to an overall hilarious journey.

I listened to the audiobook and really liked it. Tor Thom did a great job as did Lauren Sweet. I think that they were both very soothing to listen to but had fantastic comedic timing. Overall, I enjoyed this book immensely.

So hilarious!!!

LOVED LOVED LOVED this story. The male narrator was not a good fit for Alec’s character. Way too sultry sounding, when Alec has a funny and quick witted personality. The story was one of my favorites of MQ’s!! Made me laugh but also made me cry. I felt every bit of pain that Alec & Luna felt throughput the story.

Not a fan of the Audio

I loved this book! The characters are so well thought out and I loved the reality show plot. So many laughs that balanced out the deep, raw emotions. Perfection!

Very fun to listen to

I have to say I really struggled getting into this the first few chapters. Thad and Alex were really hard to warm up to initially. But then I did end up getting into it and enjoying the story for the most part. I personally could have done without a lot of the bad language. It was excessive and unnecessary imo. And some of the sex talk was just too explicit and raunchy for my taste. It just felt like especially with Luna that they were trying too hard to make her into this super sexually open and promiscuous character. It felt a little forced too all the gay acceptance talk. Like we know that it's ok for gays to be open about things now. We don't need to constantly bring up their struggles. It just felt like they were making excuses to toot the horn about gay rights. And I also felt like the big drama at the end with everyone getting so mad at Alec and Luna felt unrealistic. I have a hard time seeing people get so mad about what they did. Especially when Cohen and Luna were so close. I have a great relationship with my siblings, and if that happened with one of my siblings, I would not have freaked out like that. But all in all I enjoyed the storyline. Just could have done without some things.

Fun, entertaining, but crude
