This freaking book!

Chefs kiss! New interesting plot, narrated by my absolute favorite Laura Horowitz. One of my very few five star reads this year.

Exactly the kind of plot I've been looking for to pull me out of my slump. The only thing that slightly pulled me out of the story was the female performance of Zahariev and the male performance of Zahariev were quite mismatched. Otherwise, loved everything about this book and I CANT WAIT to get the next part of their story.

excellent narrator

love Laura Horowitz as the female narrator, such a great listen. the story is fast paced and the love interest is a slow burn which is worth the wait and the best part of the story. the story itself has promise but found certain things with the plot to be a tad bit confusing. will still read book 2.

Romantasy done right!!

This is exactly what I mean when I say Romantasy done right! Lilith is such a strong FMC—you can’t help but root for her the entire way through. The slow burn? Absolute perfection. The banter? Chef’s kiss! The balance between the real world and fantasy elements is flawless, making it impossible to put down. I’m completely obsessed and already counting the days until book two! 💀🔥📚

Spend that credit girl !!!

I just want to say wow! what a performance by the narrators absolutely amazing work. The story kept me intrigued the whole time. Now what am I supposed to do with myself until book number two comes out?? Just be ready for that cliffhanger....

Fantastical, Realistic, Unique- an Unexpected Gem

A totally original world build based around a strict religious culture ( and a rebellious sinful counterculture). The fantasy elements are blended seamlessly with modern aspects like cars, clubs, and cellphones. Normally I’m not a big fan of modern world fantasy mash ups, but this one is completely different. The author wrote something so different… just nailed it! The characters, especially the mfc, are full of flaws and issues. She’s no shiny polished perfect heroine. Honestly she’s a bit of a bitch and can be self centered. It made the story way more realistic. I’m very impressed by the writing. I highly recommend getting this book! Oh! The romance! A bit slow to start but it paid off! So happy it wasn’t just a slow burn tease! There are sex scenes! Good ones! With lots of sexual tension build up and juicy graphic details! Narration it good, mostly from the female POV with a few inserts here and there from the male POV( with a male narrator). The story does unfortunately end in a pretty epic unforeseen twist cliffhanger. It’s only unfortunate because the next one is not here for me to immediately buy, otherwise it would be epic. If you’re on the fence- don’t be. Just spend the credit! This is a story worth owning and an author worth following.

I always love anything Scarlett writes. However, I was nervous going into this one because I typically don't like religious based things but I know Scarlett's work and she never fails to write a powerful fmc l. That being said, this book doesn't disappoint. And that covers art??!! 🥵👏👌✨ STUNNING.

Scarlett is a storyteller like no other. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.

Love how the actor writes and her POV’s were great. Loved the narrators that was icing on the cake.

If you’re looking for a refreshing fantasy book with biblical lore, witches, magic, slow burn romance and found family wrapped up in the most traumatic string of events you can think of, then this is for you. I won’t lie when I say I sobbed listening to this book. The narration is absolutely perfect!
