Thanks to Specializing in magics that allow him to rapidly create buildings, the Ritualist starts carving out a defensible area for his allies. Dense walls, workshops that churn out weapons and armor, even magical edifices that rain death upon the swarming creatures. Being so new to the world, they mistakenly believe that expanding quickly equals safety.
But on the world of giants, ramping up production just means ringing a bigger dinner bell.

Here, people resemble RPG characters and everyone has access to their own status screens. Grappling with the mechanics of the elusive System isn't the only challenge Alice faces. It seems an underground organization known as the Society of Starry Eyes has taken a particular interest in other dimensions.

Excellent story telling!!!
Dakota Krout is by far the king in this genre of story telling and I look forward to each and every one of his books! Great job by Luke Daniel's as well! It would be excellent if he did all of Mountain Dale presses books if it was possible.

ouch...
While I never liked the Dakota's version of dwarves they were okay until this book. Barely 8 chapters in and i already despise them. Joe also seems to be lacking in the spine department. He saves their race from extinction and suddenly he is being betrayed for no apparent reason with no clear benefit.

I literally am only dropping the 5th story star cause I thought the dwarves (or even just snow) should have explained the situation to Joe much earlier it made me pissed off at the dwarves for the majority of the book... and I didn't like feeling that way. Awesome as always otherwise.

Another fun installment in the series! I was entertained by Luke Daniels' performance the whole time and especially enjoyed the conflict in the story. The ending had me leaning in to see what was going to happen next, and I am looking forward to 10 and 11 right away!
