The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

I too found the pronunciation confusing, but let's be fair, Goodkind should have spelled her name Kaylyn or even Kalyn. Yes, I agree the reader should have listened to previous books or at the very least, some editor should have corrected this, but I thought the possible reason for this mispronunciation should be pointed out as valid considering the spelling.
As to the series itself, I am seriously thinking of moving on to another series as Richard and Kahlen is starting to wear on me. So too is the desire to keep people in that Rada'Han...I mean the so called "good" people are constantly doing that!
And what's with all this torture stuff?
I love the t.v. series much, much better!
The pronunciation of Kahlen's name

This series is one of my favorite fantasy series of all time. The only downside is the narrator in this one. His constant mispronunciation of Kahlan's name (it's pronounced Kay-len) is an extreme distraction. His accents are fairly annoying as well.
Great book, bad narrator
