About the Performer

Adenrele Ojo is a multi-nominated Audie Award finalist and a two-time Audie winner, has received several Earphone Awards and was one of Audiofile’s Best Voices of the Year 2015. She is a professional actor and has performed in such plays as August Wilson’s Jitney and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone (nominated for an L.A. Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Featured Actress) and The Ballad of Emmett Till (winner of the 2010 L.A. Stage Alliance Ovation Award and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Best Ensemble) both at The Fountain Theatre, as well as the Fountain’s production of Citizen: An American Lyric. Her film credits include Family, Elevate, and Lifetime’s Within. When she’s not acting or recording, you can sometimes find her directing authors, celebrity actors, and other audiobook narrators.

Not overly preachy or militant, but a subtle understanding of identity struggles while still keeping true to the genre. A love story FIRST, with a powerful message unlike so many AA romance novels. I read/listen to escape and I'm glad this didn't beat me over the head with a message I live every day.

These two people narrators work great together. this is such a true story in general hate is such a reality and it just hurts. Accepting mes self as well as others accepting sometimes conflicts love the book and the narrative thanks for the light.

I read this book, then discovered it was third in a series. This one is still my favorite. I love how the author weaves the past and the present. I love how the relationships whether it's between lovers, between friends, with a parent or within yourself as it's own direction towards healing. I definitely will be getting more books by Alexandria House.
