It’s wintertime in New York, and for the first time since Irish immigrant Molly Murphy started her early-twentieth-century detective agency, she is completely snowed in with work. While she’s proving to be quite the entrepreneur and is very much in demand by some of Broadway’s brightest stars and Fifth Avenue’s richest families, she has to grudgingly admit that if she’s going to work more than one case at a time, then she’s going to need some help. Molly’s beau, the recently and wrongly suspended police captain Daniel Sullivan, would make an ideal associate, but before they can agree on the terms of his employment, they stumble upon a young woman lying unconscious in the middle of a snow-covered Central Park. When the woman wakes up she is disorientated and has and lost her ability to speak, the authorities are about to pack her off to an insane asylum when Molly can’t help but step in and take on yet another case.

Lively and colorful, full of absorbing historical detail and delightful characters, Tell Me, Pretty Maiden is another gem in Rhys Bowen’s multiple award--winning series.

Molly Murphy series soo good

I agree the stories in the series are quite good. The narration of Molly's voice is pleasing. The other characters could use some polishing. The females either sound rough or ditzy. Daniel sounds rude and mean most of the time, and much imagination must be used to picture the written lines. Bowen could not have meant him to be so abrasive, or Molly would not be attracted to a guy with such a temperament. I hope Bowen improves with practice.

Stories are great!

Another great addition to this series. I am awed by this author’s imagination.

Molly has several cases going on at the same time and Daniel helps her a little. A mysterious girl is found in the snow who does not speak and her saga intertwined with a couple of other cases. Yes I know really convenient but this is fiction and I love it!

On to the next!

Fabulous

I am very much enjoying Molly series. I have never been a big fixing fan but Molly has won me over.

Awesome!

SPOILER.

I know this is long after the book came out so my opinion won’t change anything but when Molly went into the insane asylum I thought that might the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. And also so ridiculous. Sometimes she is silly but now I’m wondering if she is an idiot and don’t think Rhys intended that. She is supposed to look brave but that is insane. I fast forwarded through it all because what in the world.

Molly, stop being so dumb.
