Publisher's Summary

The Lightwoods, the Shadowhunters who run the New York Institute, are expecting a new addition to their family: the orphaned son of their father’s friend, Jace Wayland. Alec and Isabelle aren’t too sure they want a new brother, and their parents are not assuaging their fears, too occupied with the dark news that Raphael Santiago, second-in-command of the New York vampire clan, has brought from the Shadow Market.

Cassandra Clare did it again!! I'm hooked...

This is a great story told from Jem's perspective, which is something I have been hoping for since I first read the Clockwork Angel. Inspired!

Will and Jen

Thanks Cassie for keeping Will present with Jem in this book. And Jace, Alec, and Izzy are too cute.

Great

This world of shadow hunters is my favorite to escape to. Although the stories have humor and adventure and love the dispair and sadness always hits me the hardest.

Sweet and poignant

It has been awhile since I've read the mortal instruments or infernal devices so it took a bit to remember all the history and characters. I do wish she had come out with these books sooner but the story line was fascinating and entertaining as always. excellent narrator and performance.

short but I love it

this was a very short story but I love the series I've read every single book and it's nice to get the little details between books/series.

love the City of Bones series but this is lacking

I'm a huge Cassandra Clare fan and live her City of Bones series, have read and loved all of her books so was glad to find these short stories, but this was disappointing, not at all the quality of writing I am accustomed to from Cassandra Clare.

New great stories!

Finally Cassandra Clare is back! I enjoyed new details about Jace and his arrival at the Lightwood’s in NY, and the sass between him and Isabelle. It was also nice to see a caring and motherly Maryse and fighting Rob.

This look into Jace's life was well needed. I love

I love this book. A welcome addition to what we know about Jace. Could not be more perfect.

Lovely narration makes this worth a listen even to non fans.

I’m not invested in this series and this short story did nothing to change my mind, but I’ve listened to this book probably 10 times. The combination of the narrator’s soothing voice and relaxed narration style makes listening to this book great to listen to when I need to calm down. Bless this narrator and I hope to hear more from them before I have this book memorized.
