An Amazing Classic Told in a Special Way

Any additional comments?

This story is a classic and it’s so charming that once you already know it in your own language, hearing the French brings it a whole new touch. Although this is supposed to be a children’s story, I feel like this story is one you’re never too old to enjoy. It brings out your imagination and helps you think of actual philosophical things while being something that’s also easy enough for children to follow along. The voice that’s used for the French is quite lovely and friendly. It doesn’t sound intense at all, instead it sounds happy and it’s pretty easy to follow along if you know some French. Even if your French isn’t great but you’re learning, listening to this audiobook is a great way to practice your listening. The English is cheerful too, the narrator for both the French and English both have very delightful voices. Overall, being able to listen to both the English and French really does help you whenever you’re trying to learn French. Whether you’re trying to learn it yourself or trying to teach your children it, this is a wonderful way to do it that’s easy to follow along and has a very endearing tone to it. No matter what age you are, you’re never too young or old to enjoy Le Petit Prince.

I loved it!

The learning method is like kids learning when they're a baby.
First you read a part in English on PDF and then you listen and read the same part in French.
It's simple and very efficient, and after some time your brain starts to work alone. It's like you know what the voice will say, because your brain already translate and is expecting the words.
I loved, certainly help me understand more about french language.

Simply beautiful story, for all ages

After reading (or listening to) this charming, yet profound story, one can no longer see the stars as mere lights in the night sky...and a single rose acquires new significance. The infinite value of true friendship, and of meaningful one-on-one relationships, is beautifully illustrated.

Great New Find For Learning French

Would you consider the audio edition of Le petit prince (The Little Prince) to be better than the print version?

This was an enjoyable reading of a children's story. I have taken French for around a year in the past, but this book made the difference in relearning and speaking French, again. It offered me a great opportunity to practice French consistently through a children's tale. I have had difficulty learning French in classes and as a result, I am neither a beginner nor an intermediate French learner. However, Le Petit Prince gave me the perfect brush-up in French, while giving me the chance to learn new words, phrases, and correct conjugation in grammar. Finally, I appreciate the repetition of words that allows me to recall and reinforce definitions of terms and contextual usage.

Helpful with language learning

I enjoyed this book. I like the PDF download, which I highly recommend before starting this book. The download really helped me to follow along and get familiar with the words and tenses. I also like how I was able to practice my French when the book read the story again in English. I highly recommend people listen to this book not only is the story enjoyable but there was an ease of understanding.

Excellent French Narration

This French reading of the timeless classic is an entertaining way to improve or maintain one’s French comprehension and vocabulary. The format of the accompanying French and English pdf was excellent (each paragraph in French followed by the English) and the publisher made it very easy to get. The French narrator’s expressive reading style provides a lot of contextual assistance for comprehending. A very basic English reading can quickly disclose the story, (to assist with comprehending the French if it’s too challenging).

A classic for all ages!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Le petit prince (The Little Prince) to be better than the print version?

audio version would definitely complement a print version so one who wants to perfect his or her french or english can follow along ..

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Little Prince .. the curious one , who throughout his journey learned a lot ..Curiosity and the need to learn are indispensable

Which character – as performed by Aurore Belle and Shanna Stoker – was your favorite?

Shanna Stoker was my favorite, her voice just flows with the story , so gentle and involved .. she is a wonderful narrator

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

oh yes definitely , just sit back in a comfy chair and just close your eyes, listen so you can imagine yourself in the story .

Any additional comments?

French being my first language , and having read The Little Prince in school , I would say in my opinion that I like the English audio version better than the French .. I guess the narrator makes the difference

Great way to learn!

This audio book was very much enjoyable. One thing I liked was how the speaker enunciated certain words and gave active dialogue when the characters in the book were speaking. You were able to noticeably tell when it was a character speaking versus when it was the storyline itself which helped me follow the story a bit better as my French degraded over he years. Another thing that was helpful was the consistency with which she spoke, it wasn't too fast or too slow but she took the necessary pauses while reading which allowed me to keep up better.

What a great audio-book!

Coming from a Haitian background it's always been somewhat embarrassing when my extended family tries to communicate with me in French. Since listening to the audio-book of "Le petit prince" and following along on the well-designed PDF of the book, I've been more confident in my ability to understand and comprehend what others are saying in French.

What I really liked about the audio-book was the speed at which the narrator spoke. I was able to read the text in English while the narrator read the story in French; which really help me understand how sentences are structured in French verses in English. It also helped that I was able to pause and rewind if I misunderstand something or was just wanted to hear a particular word again so that I could practice the pronunciation.

I would highly recommend this audio-book to anyone who is seeking to improve their French or English speaking ability
