Publisher's summary

My dream job carries one stipulation: play nice with the awkwardly hot shifter agent who keeps threatening to lock me in his bedroom.

I have a gun without bullets. No field training. And a mentor who always wants to pounce on me. Or throw me over his shoulder and haul me to safety at the first hint of danger.

And since I’ve made it my mission to find the killer targeting homeless shifters in my city, I’ve become a target.

Uri Alexander, my reluctant partner, has a problem with his fated mate being in harm’s way. But I’m not worried. Uri’s got my back. As long as he can focus on the job and not on what we do together off the clock.

★★★★★

This is a “full-grown-up” paranormal romance. No doors are closed in this book. Nothing is held back.

BUT if want to read a tamer version of this novel, a closed-door version (also called a clean or fade-to-black or kisses only romance) is available as Uri by Dana Archer, the discreet pen name of Nancy Corrigan.

Great story - subpar narration

I have read most of the title is this series. I like the way the characters are connected and each plot is interesting. However, the virtual narrator cannot do the stories justice. It is difficult to tell which character is speaking because the inflection doesn’t change. The virtual voice does not or can not speak with described accents. You also can’t tell when a character is thinking or speaking around another character. Sometimes the narrator speaks punctuation. Overall, the listening experience would be much better with a live narrator.
