90 Hours Is Worth the Credit, and so is the Story

This a four book set so picking the apart is going to be a bit hard. at almost 90 hours, this is absolutely worth a credit. would i say the same thing about each book individually?.... probably.

Book 1 was solid, good world building nice intro to who and what Sylvar was and may be again. he's put into enough situations that you start to get a feel for how gray his morality is. i would say that due to either scale, coincidence or plot-reasons when he chooses the darker path it definitely feels like more of a Gray choice, than a lot of what he chooses in later books..

Book 2 & Book 3 were probably my favorite in terms of plot progression and character buildup; though i'm a bit fuzzy on what happened in each book, honestly. somewhere in Book 3 is where the author tries to reel-in how OP Sylver's powers are. Things that he's done quickly and easily in the past now take longer or are just much more difficult (regrowing limbs and healing damage, for example); with some long-winded explanations about why he could do it before and can't anymore, which can be summarized to "Because: Magic, and i Said So"

Book 4... was... good? this one sees Sylver far away from home and interacting with magi-tech, including guns and "elves". This book was MUCH more gory than previous ones, with lots of missing/removed/distorted body parts - both Sylver's and everyone else's; Sylver has a "skill" that has him constantly manipulating a mass of.. well, liquid people-parts. its pretty gross. The story of this place he's visiting is also ... super convoluted and isn't adequately explained. HOWEVER, i bought book five before i finished book four so that i could keep going, so... yeah, it was still entertaining.

Narrator is pretty good. good timing and inflection; male voices are good and varied. Most females are the same variations on Husky-vaguely-brittish, husky-vaguely-scottish, husky-vaguely-snob variations; but, they're not bad.

great story and great deal

At first I was skeptical. but it is worth the credit spent. it is a great story. I'm continuing the series.

Dude WTF?!

I have no regrets about spending the zero dollars on this series. On the other hand, I do have regrets about the 80 hours that I spent listening to this series only for the story to go completely off the rails with five hours to go. I think I did a pretty good job of keeping up with the thousand characters in the 100 subplots but he ended up just losing me. I realized that I didn’t have a clue about what the MC was rambling on about and I put it down. Shame that I’ll never find out the answers to Sylvers questions…ok I’m over it.
BTW, the narrator is top notch!

This is a great story with a lot of adventures. Very interesting main character.

Started off okay

The first 2 books in this set were okay. The author rambles on too much. He tends to go off on tangents that only partially contributes to the storyline. I think I need to avoid undead stories. Authors tend to go into too much details which is fine to a point until it becomes disturbing. The author of this series actually does a fairly good job keeping things reasonably.
Book 3-4, the story starts to slow down and the author rambles more. I’m struggling to finish the 4th book. (I’m in the last 2-3 hrs) I got the app running at 3.0 speed reading. I think a lot of this is my personal preference. Others may enjoy this story more than I, but I think I will stop at book 4.
We all have our own preferences in stories, so even though I don’t care for this series. You might love it, so at least give it a go.

voice actor is really good. I very much enjoyed this the whole time. you will not regret listening to this the whole way.

I love the story but damn dude how many times can you describe a hero and be exactly what you’re describing and then say I’m not a hero though lmao

fun read

it was just a lot of fun listening to this Tale. the main character over the top, felt evil but not truly evil. I've recommended this series to multiple people

On Net Good

I think I like this overall. it does a great job of making an OP MC make sense. He was challenging at times for me to root for but I think having all 4 books made me want to continue I otherwise I think I might've only read 1 - 2 books. Either way good value. I like the narrator.
