Publisher's summary

Patrick

My name is Patrick Neumann, and I have the world’s worst-kept secret — I’m in love with my boss, Aaron (aka: Nyx), and everyone knows it but him.

You’d think an award-winning romance author would be able to spot his own happily ever after a mile away, but nope. Aaron is clueless. I could show up on his doorstep in a jockstrap with a rose clenched between my teeth and he’d still think I only want to be friends.

Which is why I’ve written myself my own perfect happily ever after and published it under my new secret pen name: Miller Night. It’s 70,000 words of sweet, steamy romance starring thinly veiled versions of me and Aaron — all my deepest, darkest desires spelled out right there on the page. I haven’t been subtle about it, but I’m not worried. It’s not like Aaron will read it. And even if he does, he’s so oblivious he’ll never figure out that Miller is really me.

Nyx

I’ve read a lot of romance novels in my life, but the one I just finished is the most perfect of all. It’s swoony, sweet, indulgent, and so hot the words almost melt off the page. It’s so good that if I didn’t know better, I’d think it was written just for me.

Best of all, it’s helped distract me from the feelings I shouldn’t be having for my cute blue-haired personal assistant, Patrick.

I don’t know the author who wrote it, but I need to be his friend.

Miller Night, watch out, because I’m going to make you mine.

Sweet Thing is the second book in the Masters of Romance series, where romance authors don’t just write about happily ever afters — they live them. Get ready for love, laughter, and some serious steam. No cheating and no love triangles, guaranteed. This boss/employee, friends to lovers, secret identity rom-com romp of a book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, but it’s way more fun to binge them all. Which author are you most excited to see get his HEA?

Lives up to its name

I love cleverly plotted stories with lovable characters and Sweet Thing fills that bill. First, I read the print copy of the book and then couldn't help myself from listening to Michael work his magic on these sweet characters. I very much am enjoying the Masters of Romance series with this group of guys writing romance novels and having the type of camaraderie that I adore reading in books. Both Patrick and Nyx were such sweet guys with great chemistry that made it easy to get invested into their love story. I found Sweet Thing living up to its name while providing some enjoyable listening hours. I can't wait for the next book in this wonderful series. (4.5 stars)

How sweet!

Michael Ferraiuolo is such an amazing narrator. He brings such life to the author's characters! I love this story. Patrick is hopelessly in love with his boss, romance author Aaron. He is so terrified of confessing his love that he writes his own romance novel pouring out his feelings....and then Aaron over the book and wants to meet the author....Now what does he do?!?!? Absolutely lovely and sweet book!

The Sweetest

This was the sweetest book ever! This books has the most adorable, oblivious mc ever. But that just made you love him even more.

Aaron our resident fluff writing author, can't see what everyone around him does, that his PA is in love with him. He is so clueless that he misses the hints his family gives him. While it can be frustrating, it is also cute to watch him flounder.
Patrick the shy, klutzy PA, isn't any better. He doesn't help his case when he can barely talk much less confess to our gente giant.

Watching these two dance around each other was such fun. It is made even better with Aaron's choice of words and his lovable brothers trying to help him out.

I definitely recommend reading book 2 of this series if you want low angst, oblivious himbos and lovable side characters helping you achieve your HEA.

Clueless Love

This was indeed a sweet tale of clueless love.
So in love with his oblivious writer boss, Patrick has resorted to writing his own novel to express himself.
Enamored with the story he wrote, Aaron makes it his mission to find out who Patrick really is.

We become engaged in their slow burn, perfect, sweet love story that is enhanced by the addition of their friends in this plot.

The narration by Michael is fantastic and he brings these characters to life splendidly.

It really is a sweet thing

The balance of sweet and comforting against relatable and believable is, judging by all the romance novels I have read, not at all an easy one. Emma Alcott does it wonderfully in this book. I was touched and engaged and impatient and happy and steamed up, and so satisfied at the end. Michael Ferraiuolo is so good, I'm lost for words. He lifted an excellent book to new heights. In the end, this book made a bad day a thousand times better for me.

Slow Burn At Its Best

I was pretty excited to see this available in an audiobook. Well, I may or may not have done a happy dance. I loved it just as much as the first one in the series, Bad Boy. It was so sweet what Patrick does to tell Aaron aka Nyx how he feels. Wow, Aaron really was oblivious! Everyone else could see how perfect they are for each other. The slow burn was perfect; I couldn't wait for these two to get together. Michael Ferraiuolo does an incredible job narrating, as usual. I can't wait to find out who the main characters will be in the next one!
