Harry Dresden’s investigation of a grisly double murder pulls him into the darkest depths of magical Chicago in the first dramatized audiobook in the #1 New York Times bestselling Dresden Files series!

As a professional wizard, Harry Dresden knows firsthand that the “everyday” world is actually full of strange and magical things—and most of them don’t play well with humans. And those that do enjoy playing with humans far too much. He also knows he’s the best at what he does. Technically, he’s the only at what he does. But even though Harry is the only game in town, business—to put it mildly—stinks.

So when the Chicago P.D. bring him in to consult on a double homicide committed with black magic, Harry's seeing dollar signs. But where there's black magic, there's a black mage behind it. And now that mage knows Harry's name...

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

James marsters is better for sure, much more noise in the background and harry sound’s wrong

James marsters is better

I'm a fan of the audio books with James Marsters, and I enjoy full-cast audio adaptations, when done right. I've been disappointed in the over acting in some previous GA adaptations, but for the most part they've avoided that in this one. The central characters are well portrayed, and although some of the secondary female characters can go a bit far in the femme fatale direction, there's no denying there are strong sexual overtones in the original novels, so that can be overlooked.

Harry is just as much of a likeable wise ass as always, and the adaptation is very clever at keeping his narration intact. When there's an action scene and he has to do some explaining in the midst of it, the background audio is either faded under his thoughts, or there's sometimes a clever sound effect that subtly suggests the action is going into show motion while we are in Harry's head. In all, the writing and sound editing are excellent and well thought-out. I'll be getting the rest of the series if and when it comes out!

Great follow-up to the audio books

This was a really enjoyable version of Storm Front. They have a good cast, but the pick for Harry Dresden was especially good. Totally nailed it - with exactly the right comedic timing, and drama, as appropriate. Marcone (sp?) is probably my second favorite in the cast. But frankly, they're all good. The sound effects add to the production and are never distracting. The music is good. The only small nitpick is with that music. At times it seems to overpower the narrative, and could probably do with being a little less in your face. But that's really minor. I absolutely hope they produce more books in this style and with this cast. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this one

I'm so glad to finally be able to experience these in audio form. The narrator of the traditional version is just... so bad. But Graphic Audio delivers as great a performance as they did with Murderbot, and of course Jim Butcher's writing remains fantastic

Whole cast is amazing

I *love* the Dresden files, and it's hard to hear James Marsters narration..m but this hit every mark I needed it to and I enjoyed it very much.

This dramatized presentation completely captured my attention. I will be getting all my favorite books as they are added to this genre. Thank you for the time, effort and attention to detail.

I’ll admit it took a bit to get used to the new cast, but about after chapter 1 hearing the personality and vocal range of the new voice talents especially for Harry I’m hooked and love it, and want more of the same.

Way better then I expected

I like this it’s great I missed marsters
But I like this harry felt kinda like he never aged in the series of book in his voice where this feel like harry is young and dumb like he just started saving Chicago
