Amazing Second Story in this Series

Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Book 2 in the Brutal Birthright series

Steam Level: Slow burn to toasty
5/5

Stolen Heir is the second book in the Brutal Birthright series. If you haven't read the first book Brutal Princess then I highly recommend it. If only to fall in love with this series and the characters too. While the couple is new in Brutal Birthright this book follows the events from Brutal Princess - including why and how the Irish and Italians formed their alliance and the murder that sets off the events leading to this book.

Once I finished Stolen Heir I had to sit and let it digest. It's just as good as the first book. I love
the characters the action, the suspense and everything in between I loved the push and pull between Ness and Miko and how Nessa shows just how strong she is. Nessa is thought of as the weakest link but she shows her strength, surprising everyone. Sophie Lark creates strong heroines and I absolutely love this series. I cannot wait for the rest.

I received this audiobook for free from Pink Flamingo Productions. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Tale As Old As Time

This Mafia version of Beauty and the Beast is a really fun listen, Nessa is young sweet and innocent. She's also the perfect pawn in Mykolas's plan for revenge. The story definitely ties into the first book but can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone. Who would have thought all it would take to crack through the growly exterior of a mysterious mafia boss was a ballerina?

I really enjoyed how the house was very nearly a character in the story. The housekeeper was also very sweet and in my mind is very much Mrs. Potts so I had to keep reminding myself that she is actually young and attractive lol. The romance development in an enemies to lovers is always fun to watch. I think my favorite part though is Harlow really grew into her own,. She brushed aside her naivete taught herself a valuable skill and threw herself into her passion to stay sane and strong.

The steam is a solid 3/5 with a really nice build up

The narration is easy to listen to. Faith Clark has a very sweet voice that plays Harlow so well. Alan is growly enough to be this Beast,

Definitely Enemies-To-Lovers Mafia Feud Story

I received this audiobook free for an honest review, as a member of the Pink Flamingo Production Review Team. This story has all the features of a hot romance story. Nessa, the sweet, innocent girl of a rival mafia family. Miko, a troubled, numb, mafia boss. The suspense of kidnapping Nessa and the reasons behind this kidnapping keeps the reader/listener vested in this story. The author developed a quality, detailed story. The sex was not erotic. It was just mildly sexual. The chemistry between these two enemies was hot. Looking forward to more books in this series. The two narrators were excellent in becoming these two characters as well as the other characters in this story.

Stolen Heir - Nessa and Miko

I am not sure about this book. Compared to Aida and Callum’s story in Brutal Prince, this one was not nearly as good. The book was a little slow to progress. I was hoping it was as good as if not better than Brutal Prince. It was almost like Miko flipped a switch and then he was in love with her and tried to send her back to her family. Throughout the book, I did not find Miko likeable. I like how Nessa was able to teach herself Polish, Miko’s first language. He did not know she could understand it until she overhears him talking about killing her brother, Callum. There is a traitor in this book but I don’t think anyone will be surprised by who it is.

As far as the narrators, Faith Clark and Alan Carlson were very good except Faith gave Nessa a child-like voice that could be annoying at times.

Mafia series

Flock review. I enjoyed the book very much, or should I say the audiobook, definitely liking the series, mafia and angst sign me up. Miko and Nessa's story is entertaining, the characters are great, I did want more angst like the previous book, whoever I got more information around the mafia world. Narrators Faith Clark and Alan Carlson did a great job, the editing and sound was as expected and definitely worth hearing it.

Nessa Tames the Big Bad Wolf

Stolen Heir is book two in the Brutal Birthright series and tells the story of Nessa and Mikolaj. Mikolaj kidnaps Nessa as a way to get back at her family because they had killed his father and he wanted revenge. But while Miko is wheeling and dealing with other mafia leaders and plotting his next moves, Nessa ends up burrowing her way into not only his life but ultimately his heart, surprising them both.

Stolen Heir is a mafia enemies to lovers romance. I loved Nessa's character. She was very easy to like because she had a wonderful heart and she saw the good in people. I loved her relationship with Clara. Although Mikolaj was supposed to be a big bad wolf, he didn't always come across that way and it was clear he had a soft spot for Nessa fairly early on. I loved how protective he was of her when it came to her being wronged by others, and how he was not going to stand by for anyone else hurting her.

I found the first part of the book a little difficult to follow and slow to start but it picked up fairly quickly. There were some definitely steamy moments in this book between Nessa and Miko. I listened to the audiobook, and while I don't believe I have heard either narrator before, I think they both did a phenomenol job with their respective parts. I felt all the emotions throughout the story and both did a fantastic job with accents and differing languages. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 A Mesmerizing Thrill!

Wow, this book is amazing, the story drew me in right from the start and captivated my attention for the entire book. This is a fabulous enemies to lovers story loosely based on the classic fairy tale “Beauty and The Beast” and this is truly a beautiful beast of a story! Sophie Lark is a gifted author, I enjoy her writing style and the characters and storylines she creates. This book is the second in her “Brutal Birthright” series and can be enjoyed on its own, though you may not want to miss the first book “Brutal Prince” because it is just as amazing as this. This book is Mikolaj “Miko” Wilk and Nessa Griffen’s story, it starts out in in Warsaw, Poland and shows us how Miko found his way into the Polish Mafia, some may say lost his way. The story fast forwards 10 years and brings us to Chicago, Miko inherited the role of mob boss after his adopted father, Tymon Zajoc aka The Butcher was killed during a Mafia family power struggle, with the Italians (Gallo) and Irish (Griffens) family. Miko will avenge his death by taking down both families one member at a time, he is just waiting for the right time. He catches a break when the youngest Griffen daughter walks in to his bar with some of her friends, he then puts a plan in to play. Nessa Griffin is the youngest family member and has been kept out of the loop of the family business, the only thing she is aware of is that they mafia. She is sweet and innocent, some think she is weak and easy to pushover. When she finds her self kidnapped and held hostage a braver side of her comes out, a smarter side. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is brilliantly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt and emotional moments and a slow burn, enemies to lovers romance. I loved those two together and for each other, she was the light to his darkness, she reached in and grabbed his humanity and brought it out. It was great to see how much these two characters grew by the end. Sophie Lark, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Faith Clark and Alan Carlson are fabulously talented narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, humanize them giving each their own voice and personality. They did an awesome job portraying the characters, taking each role and making it their own. Faith Clark performed the Nessa’s role with perfection, capturing both innocence and her bravery. Alan Carlson’ Miko was perfection as well, not only did he sound like a badass mafia boss but his accents were great too. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen🎧

Great Story!

This is the second of six books in the Brutal Birthright Series, an Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance. This is a dark retelling of the Beauty and the Beast. Miko and Nessa's story is intense, dark, and captivating. Miko is dark and ruthless. Nessa is lovely, sweet, funny, innocent, strong, talented, caring, and smart. They are both amazing characters. The storyline has action, suspense, and twists and turns. I like the ending. Faith Clark and Alan Carlson did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed their voices together. They are perfect as Miko and Nessa. I highly recommend this Series. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the series, Savage Lover. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock

Enemies To Lovers Mafia Romance

Stolen Heir by Sophie Lark is an enemies to lovers mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Faith Clark and Alan Carlson. This is the second book in the Brutal Birthright series and each book can be read as a stand-alone.

This is the second book of Sophie’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the relationship between Miko and Nessa.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series Savage Lover to be released on audio so I can get Camille and Nero’s story.

Faith and Alan did a great job on the narration. I can’t wait to listen to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you love enemies to lovers, mafia romances, or romantic suspense.

Great Series!

I received this audiobook via an Audiobook Obsession Promo Code & this is my voluntary review.

This book is the second in Sophie Larks Brutal Birthright series which focuses on pretty Ballerina Nessa, youngest daughter of the Griffin Irish Crime family in Chicago being kidnapped by Polish Underworld Boss, Miko. When she wandered into his nightclub with dance friends, the ruthless mobster concocts the plan to use her disappearance as revenge after her brothers killed his foster father, The Butcher who adopted Miko after impressing him with his attempt to avenge the death of his twin sister 10 years before.

Miko plans to use the sheltered daughter to destroy the alliance of the Gallo family and the Irish Mafia in Chicago as they frantically try to trace the young dancers location. While he forms alliances of his own with the Russians, the petite dancer playing Belle inside his own Beasts lair, he finds that heart he thought he buried pang with guilt at getting an innocent caught up in his ugly world. Stockholm syndrome or true love: who knows? What is true.. this Beauty & The Beast tale between our Dangerous Crime Boss and his "little dancer" is entrancing. The longer she's within his reach, the more he wants to put her in his arms and keep her safe.

He dragged her into Hell with him... and now the monsters circling her are the ones all his own playing devil encouraged.

I loved the performances by Faith Clark and Alan Carlson in this story.

You should check it out.

Amazing!

Mikolaj is a mafia boss. He is ruthless and cunning and completely heartless. He takes what he wants and exacts his revenge as he sees fit. His heart died a long time ago.

Nessa is a sweet, innocent daughter of a rival mafia. The two collide in the worst way but their journey is beautiful and somewhat tragic.

This is like a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast and I loved it! It was gritty and emotional. Nessa creates a unique relationship with Clara, the housekeeper. It is sweet and perfect. Their bond is gratifying. There is turmoil and there is bloodshed, it is mafia lifestyle after all but the results are exquisite. This is a beautiful story and I think the author outdid her first book by far with this one. I loved Nessa immediately and I fell for Miko right along with her. I loved the softer side of him and I loved his honesty. It was refreshing. There were a few times I wanted to strangle him but that's to be expected. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the characters in it.

Faith Clark's voice was exactly what I imagined for Nessa and Alan Carlson did an amazing job with the accent! I was impressed with how he transferred between character dialogue so flawlessly, accent to no accent and then back. It was great!

Stolen Heir

A mafia story blended with a beauty and the beast theme leads to perfection! This story had me wishing for the good to overcome the bad and bring out the love and happiness that was possible, and luckily that is exactly what happens with a little bit (or a lot) of mafia drama and action along the way. An amazing listen for any adult who loves fairy tales.
