Sounds like it was recorded on a phone

Is there anything you would change about this book?

record it with much better quality

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

less lists and more dialog. Lists do not translate well to audio books.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jared Tendler?

morgan freeman

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

no.

Any additional comments?

Book contains valuable material, but does not make a good audio book.

Good For People Who Haven't Played Much Poker

It's a very simple analysis of poker intended for people without much playing experience. It uses more complex terms, that new poker players might not be familiar with, while reaffirming the same points every chapter.

Intended for beginning poker players looking to learn the vocabulary, as well as those looking to organize their poker notes more efficiently.

Life lessons. Worth it.

I would recommend you get this book. But, I don't want you to play on a table next to me. lol. I believe this book should be used once a month until it becomes unconscious. You can also apply this to daily life lessons.

Good book, but need update on sound quality

Good book, but need update on sound quality. I got used to it but I think it really made negative affect on the listening experience and wanting to keep it ok for hours on end. Not too bad tho I finished the book.

Straightened My Game Out!

Have you sometimes wondered what's wrong with your game?

This book and the 2nd one, have revealed the leaks I was trying to plug.

Yep, it's all in Your Head!

If applied, assimilated and practiced, these principles, concepts and insights will aid in steering, or righting the direction any serious student of the game of poker 1st, then other areas of life, onto the proverbial highway of success!

More than one listen is highly reccommended as the deep, yet practical approach and instruction will lead to multiple "ah hah" moments as your mind is bridled and trained towards avenues of purpose, thus giving you the "mental tools" needed to avoid any Phil Helmuth tyrannical fits, all captured before them being allowed to manifest.

Get them, read them, practice them and you will be rewarded more than the price paid for their advice.

Thanks Jared!

Very useful logic map for the serious poker player

I ended up getting more out of this book than I expected. Jared is fantastic at laying out the logic map for navigating the mental game of poker. Only thing I would have liked is for him to have put more of a pause in between new subject matter. I also feel like you would be better off going through this book with a physical copy rather than audiobook. All in all a very useful tool for the serious poker player

Very Informative

Where does The Mental Game of Poker rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's my favorite book on poker psychology. My background is in psychology and I have a graduate degree in it. That doesn't make me immune to my own mental game flaws and. Jared is well qualified to teach on the matter. He presents some very common mental leaks in an easy to understand way and provides practical feedback on addressing the leaks.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Mental Game of Poker?

The whole book is helpful. The leaks Jared covers are so common you're bound to identify with at least one. It's like having coaching sessions with him to read this,

Have you listened to any of Jared Tendler’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He's good at this. The material is great and he reads it well for a non-professional reader.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. After the overview I couldn't wait to get to the chapters that were specific to my own mental game weaknesses.

Terrible recording

Audible should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this recording to see the light of day. I’ve heard better quality recordings on fisher price toy recorders. It completely takes away from the content.

Surprisingly interesting and informative.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definately recommend to all; even non-poker players. Great science-based insights for everyone who wants to be better at any activity and improve oneself at setting and accomplishing goals.

What other book might you compare The Mental Game of Poker to and why?

Jared's book and methods are to the mental side of poker what Doyle's Super Systew is to the strategy side of poker.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Cadence was well metered but the alternate voice sounded mechanical and contrived. Should have used actual players or someone else's voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. Too much info for 1 sitting.
