What do you do when you’re so empty inside, you feel nothing?
When all you’ve ever known was pain?
You run. That’s what I did—I ran away without once looking back.
People say starting over is the best way for a new beginning, but that’s far from the truth if you end up back where you began. Sometimes life likes to throw lemons at you really hard until there’s nothing left to do but make lemonade.
I’ve known pain, but not the kind that messes with my heart.
That is until Logan, Dalton, Tey, and Nicholas came into my life without a warning label.
I’m not prepared, and I’m afraid after fighting since day one...they might just be the reason I finally break.
*A dark, why choose bully romance.
*Trigger warning, dark themes that may be sensitive for some listeners. Enter with caution.
*Check very beginning of book for trigger warnings please.

Here’s where a spoiler comes in, we all have triggers, my list of triggers is pretty small, thankfully. However, I noticed one is growing more and more prevalent and bothersome for me lately. I now have issues with the amount of rape that’s happening and all of the books I’ve been reading lately. I’m all four non-con and dub con between my heroin and her MMC, heck the more the merrier! However, full on rape? And gang rape like in this situation?! No. Those just crossed the line for me, and I cannot handle it. After putting this book down for about 15 minutes dealing with that situation, I jumped back in.
I’m glad I did, it turned out that have some good spots in this book. There’s some areas that really caught my attention and made me want to keep reading like the racing scenes, like the getaway scene, like meeting her mother.
The narrator Elle Sonali, tries a bit too hard in my opinion. When she would do the parts of the boys, they were almost comical sounding, almost like right out of comic book villain. It was hard to take them seriously as scary bad men. I also didn’t like how our female main character bow down to these guys. Now don’t get me wrong. I love a good reverse harem, but that’s when the men are obsessed with the heroin. Were they just can’t get enough of her and they’re so obsessed and possessive that they lose their minds. These guys don’t have any of that going for them, they fall on seem to hate her and treat her like dirt and she’s written in a way that makes it seems like she likes it. I don’t like that either. I understand she’s been through a lot and therefore her self-esteem is shite. But come on. I’m hoping that the next book has more red redemption where she gets a little bit of her power back and she gets a backbone that she should have after enduring all of the horrors she endured growing up in that motorcycle gang.
All in all, I didn’t love this book, but I didn’t hate it enough to not go onto the next book and hope for a redemption arc. I’m not asking for hearts and roses, but I am asking for a little darn respect for our heroin and a little bit of a backbone for her where she tells these guys to kick rocks in essence! If it doesn’t pick up in the next book, unfortunately I’m gonna have to put down this nude to me Author there.
Not 100% sure I liked this book. SPOILERS!!
